In 2007 Eric Wallace was ranked #122 (#32 SF) by Rivals and Scout had him as a 3-star (#29 SF). Played at Glenn H.S. in Winston-Salem, then spent a year at Hargrave before signing with the Buckeyes.
Watching Wallace play more than 30 high school games, his game resembles closely that of Wilderness’. His rankings are low now, but he was a Top 5 SF as a sophomore and junior in high school. Exceptional athlete, great defender, but needs work on his shooting. His shooting is what is keeping him from being ranked high, and probably why he got almost no playing time at Ohio State. I doubt we would show any interest or need to go after him since An’ Juan is here. Now, since he has to sit out a year, maybe we will seek him out. My guess is he will return to one of the ACC schools who were after him heavy out of high school and Hargrave.
I played with and against this kid when we were 12 13 and then against in high school. Exceptional talent and athletic ability unbelieveable. Originally committed to Virginia and the decommitting before enrolling in Hargrave. We need to capitalize on top players from this state transferring from big school. I think they have a little more motivation to prove themselves.

lets go after this guy for real. lets kick one of our players out so a guy who isn’t producing currently can play 34 minutes a game!!!
:huhsign:
just because you play against a guy when you were 13 doesn’t mean he’s good now. its obvious he isn’t producing on this level.
By all means let’s go after this kid. A great athlete that can’t shoot will fit nicely at Charlotte.
We usually get one or the other, rarely combined. A great shooter or a great athlete, but usually not both. Those players are reserved for the elite programs most of the time. Wallace is an exceptional athlete. It’s easier to improve on your shooting than it is on your athleticism.

He wasn’t given any playing time with the other great recruits Ohio State had and with their current guys dax, plain and simple. He cannot control who committs. Wallace can play, and would be as athletic as Coley and Wilderness. As I said, he needs to work on his shooting, but his talent level has not gone down any and he’s a great kid. Don’t try to poo poo on him from what I said above.

Yeah I mean when I go watch him play junior and senior year and he dominates games against good competition means that he was amazing when he was 13 and should come here on that…NO. When he was 13 he wasnt even that great… average maybe above average…He is a very good player and will show that where he plays next… maybe he could handle college and college basketballl freshman year 9 hours from home… no one knows he is a great player and will continue to be…if there is anything else you wonna say go ahead
Good Luck in what you do next Eric…you will do great things there
DAMNNNNN that is nasty! I'd love to see him and Coley in the Midnight Madness dunk contest.
I see you. Nice hat.
He jumped from outside the lane and over this guy who was like 3 feet or more away from him.
And yes, I am wearing a Chapel Hill hat. Shut up. This was before i had gotten rejected by Chapel Hill and was still a pretty big fan. Those who know me, know who i pull for.
