1946

clt asks about this: https://webforms.uncc.edu/specialeventsunccedu/1946-society

I think this is by invitation only for those who have contributed to the University for at least 15 consecutive years.

3 years

I got one. Sent my rsvp not going.

OK, but the reception is for Gold Circle members. 15 years or more consecutively.

Invitation said “business attire”. That turns me right off. I considered telling them my business is landscaping (it isn’t) just to see the look on Phil’s face, assuming he’ll be there.

I got an invite…and I have been a contributor since the mid to late 90’s…and the only reason I still do it is I look at it like an investment. I have earned so many loyalty points thru the years, I could pony up and get GREAT seats if we ever got good enough for it to matter.

But I am so tired of waiting…the investment feels more and more each year like I’m just pissing money away.

Each year for the last 3, I have seriously considered being done with it all.

The investment side of it as it relates to loyalty points is the only thing that has convinced me to keep on.

How weird is that??

Not too weird. I’m right there with you, but I’ve been a contributor for longer. Still, my thoughts too.

clt would attend, but clt is not allowed on campus.

One of the few benefits of getting old is that doing something for more than 15 years doesn’t seem like all that big of a deal. Nice event with food and drinks, and the program was kept very short. This is a nice way to thank supporters. I broke out the retro lapel pin.

Nicely done. My wife and I enjoyed the event too. We can still support the University, even though we are disappointed in the athletics right now. After all, it’s still about education first. I’m still proud to be an alum.

Well said. I agree 100%

Yes. Always will be appreciative and proud to be an alum. It was probably the only way, at the time, I could have attended and graduated from a 4 year college. It has made ALL the difference in how my life successfully unfolded.
