Toure Murry - 2008 SG

6’3, 165 lbs guard out of Texas (Klein Forest HS)

Lists Charlotte and Witchita State as his leaders, and holds an offer from us according to the rivals article. Also says these two schools will be likely getting a visit from him this fall.

Any links to info about this guy??

Correct spelling of his last name is MURRY [no “A”]. His brother Nile played at TCU in Conference USA (and actually spent first 2 seasons with Temple before transferring).

Many of us don’t get Rivals or Scouts… what’s the articles saying about him? Pros/cons? etc.

scout has him as a 1 star non ranked shooting guard.

All the links I provided are free content. In the article on Rivals about a June tourney in Texas, Murry’s AAU coach Mark Simpson had this to say:

The Select were lead by Logan Lancon's outside shooting and the solid play by both point guards, Demetri Goodson and Toure Murry.

“Coaches that are sleeping on [Toure] Murry better start looking at him, because he may not be available after the Denton tournament,” added Simpson. “He’s shooting the ball and running this team great.”

BTW, the “cons” are now headed to Morgantown, West Virginia after a number of years in Cincinnati and a brief stay in Manhattan, Kansas!

Murry commits to Wichita State.

From Jeff Goodman of FOXSports.com:

Gregg Marshall walked out of an in-home visit with Toure Murry with his first commitment in the Class of 2008.

The new Wichita State coach had targeted Murry, a 6-foot-3 combo guard out of Klein Forest (Texas), as his top guy coming out of July because of his length, versatility and ability to score in a variety of ways.

Murry, who knocked down nine trifectas in one game this summer, had no offers entering July and came out of it with 16.
