Tulsa Postshame

Only a few things to say. Hurts too much to talk much about it…

-Our 3fense is rather atrocious.

-I would rather spend 35 seconds looking for a good shot and running the shot clock out over and over during the game rather than running down there and forcing junk with 20+ seconds left on the shot clock.

  • Congrats to Tramaine Pride on his first minutes, rebound, and point in D1 basketball.

This stuff really hurts to watch and I see why people duck out at times like these. We aren’t fair weather fans. We care a lot and this junk really hurts. A lot.

For everyone who feels as I do, listen to this Michigan State fan and radio host. I 100% feel the way this guy does and it is hilarious to listen to him.

I’m not ashamed to say I left early. Why stew in my seat?

I didn’t see the Arizona State game, so I can fairly certainly say this is the best team I’ve seen the Niners play this year. Maybe Clemson had an off night.

Sweirad gave Phil Jones the POG. I guess Sweirad likes turnovers.

today’s game was disappointing

Could be possible but not having wilderness or dew in the game also affects our game play and confidence on the floor.

True, but after watching that tall, good defending Golden Hurricane squad tonight I think theyd beat Clemson more often than not.

My kid was so disgusted, he spit up twice.

How many times does it take a guy hitting a 3 for you to realize not to double while in a 2-3 zone and a 3-2 zone?

3, apparently. Why we kept doubling while in a zone may be the dumbest damn thing I have ever seen. I hope they were not coached to do this.

3 plays in a row where our guys doubled down low, and Tulsa hit the 3. That was the game right there.

I dislike Bobby’s defensive philosophy 100 times more than I dislike his offensive philosophy. I actually love his offensive philosophy in comparison.

So is the thinking that playing man-to-man would result in a worse outcome than offensive rebounds and wide-open 3's?

I was hoping we’d play better in this game, but it really didn’t matter all that much for this season. We need to win conference games to position for a run in the tournament. Not that a run is all that likely, but it’s really our only chance for post-season play of any kind. It’s either that or throw in the towel on the season, and that would suck.

On the other hand, it’d be nice to see some of the younger players develop, and this losing probably doesn’t help that all that much. It was nice seeing Barnett get some minutes.

We can’t shoot the basketball: period. Layups, 3’s, mid-range, and also today, free throws; doesn’t matter because we can’t make anything consistently. None of the other stuff matters as much when you can’t do the numero uno essential thing: scoring. 25.9% won’t win any intramural games.

We gave up the open 3’s in the first half to shut down Jordan, doubling him on most every entry pass. We held him scoreless, but let a bench player go 5-5 from behind the arc. We defended the perimeter better in the 2nd half, but Jordan scored all 16 of his points when we switched to guarding him 1-on-1. Pick your poison. With Wilderness out, we are nowhere near as good defensively. Bottom line, we shoot 35% and make 80% from the line we’re in the game despite our defensive woes. Until we learn how to shoot and score, the rest does not matter much.

I was thinking about that before he gave out the award, that nobody should have gotten it. I think he just had to give it to somebody and he was the best of the bad.

Only positives I can come up with are:

Even though the student turnout was not great, you guys were still vocal in such an ugly game.

Barnett seems to be improving slightly in quickness and rebounding.

That’s the best I can do. Ughhh!

Phil had less turnovers than our point guard, had the same number of assists, and nearly had a double-double. I don’t mind the turnovers as much when the player is productive overall. Big Phil was pretty much the lone bright spot on a dreary day.

As stated above.

Untill someone steps up to put the ball in the hole, nothing else matters.
We couldn’t shoot at the beginning of the year and we can’t shoot now.

What happened to shooting guards wanting to come to Charlotte to play???

Apathy.

A complete numbness.

I left early. Not sure if I am gonna bother anymore.

They do try. We’re just awful.

Barnett should be playing more, for next year at least.

Seriously?

Im glad Im at work for most of our games. This si just getting hard to watch.

Well, the basketball team sucks so we are going to have to come up with some new ways to keep the fans coming out. I’m thinking we need to put the gold dusters in bikinis.
