UAB football

I have a hard time believing UAB - the largest employer in the state - would become a grad-only institution. Where would the current 11,500+ undergrads end up? I guess they could be divvied up among the other two UA campuses, the two Auburn campuses, the three directionals (inc USA), Jax State, Troy, etc., but would be really odd for the public university in the state’s largest city to NOT offer undergrad programs. Just saying.

clt says the fact that UAAABB is the largest employer in the state says a lot about alabama.

Settle down, this is stoking the fire. If UAB isn’t back, some people will go into hiding.

Wow, that’s quite a mess! To quote a famous “Alabaman” - “Mama says ‘Stupid is as stupid does.’”

I’d imagine they stay transferred.

Interesting situation. The NCAA could waive policies and allow the guys that left to return. Maybe they don’t want to, but the NCAA could make it easier on UAB.

that would hurt those institutions in which they landed. By the time UAB is ready to compete in FBS, those guys will be graduated.

UAB has already screwed schools by making them scramble to find new opponents this season with little notice. It would be wrong to let players that left come back, screwing the schools that held spots for them.

Conference USA Statement on UAB’s Decision to Bring Back Football

Great news. Justice was served even though it’s a shame they won’t be playing this year and have to build from scratch.

I just don’t see how Watts still has a job.

I am really glad that we get to keep one of our “long time rivals” in the conference. I’m also glad that justice was “sort of” served, even though they do have to start over.

This is great news. From many angles.

Great for CUSA basketball as well.

They HAVE to strike while the iron is hot and get an on campus stadium.

Without that they will never fill their true potential.

clt thinks that uat has likely made uab much stronger.
