It won’t be so impressive when they feel like the visitor for 5 of their home games. I don’t envy them one bit.

My home court.

My home court.

I likely wont be going to any games unless im already on campus. 40 minute drive one way isnt worth it.
Also on the program were Tim Rice, president and CEO of Moses Cone Health System, who is serving as “community coach” for the ticket and sponsorship drive; East Carolina Athletics Director Terry Holland; and Mike Dement, UNCG men’s basketball coach.

Rice said, “As a long-time member of the Greensboro community, I enjoy supporting important initiatives for our city. I am a big basketball fan. And I am definitely a fan of UNCG and of all of the wonderful ways in which this outstanding university helps make Greensboro a great place to live. That is why I am involved with UNCG and why I serve on the Coliseum Commission. I believe in this city, I believe in the Coliseum and I believe in UNCG. This partnership is very exciting to me.”

Terry Holland discussed the power that a single goal can have when it is held by a group. “Before you can achieve, you have to believe,” he said. “In today’s world we often forget what needs to be done or we let others do it. The power of one comes from what you can accomplish with one goal.”

Mike Dement thanked Brady and the Coliseum for their commitment to the basketball program. He kidded Holland and said, “We’re going to have lots of great games here, starting on Nov. 28.” That’s the date UNCG plays East Carolina, which happens to be Dement’s alma mater.
Of note: Their slogan for the year isn’t too different from one we’re seeing, “Got Mine! Get Yours!” Tim Rice’s comments sounded a lot like Johnny Harris’ at the sales team kickoff function. I also liked Holland’s quote, it applies to the football effort; “Before you can achieve, you have to believe. In today’s world we often forget what needs to be done or we let others do it. The power of one comes from what you can accomplish with one goal.”

It looks like they have a well thought out plan. The Greensboro Coliseum is very close to the UNCG campus, which should help.

The place looked great. They had the thing set up the exact way it will be for most games with the ~7,600 seating arrangement and it didn’t look tacky at all (which I was afraid that it might). Also, they let everyone see the locker rooms they have refurbished for UNCG. They were very nice as well.

I hope to get out to at least one game this year. It is just down the road.

I kinda hope we can play them there sometime…their green seats will look great with our crowd filling them :smirk::49ers:

The games are about a billion times more easy to get to now. Parking on campus for a week night game was always a hassle.
