Scheduling tidbit:

The 49ers’ nonconference schedule next season includes an appearance in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off (three games in a challenging field of Auburn, Florida State, Georgetown, Kansas State, Long Beach State, Michigan and Virginia Commonwealth), a home game against Davidson and a return game at Florida State (the 49ers will not play “return” games from this season against Charleston Southern and Georgia Southern but will play at UNC Asheville). Only the Davidson game, however, will be on Charlotte’s campus. Major said it is difficult to schedule teams from power conferences to come to Halton Arena, largely because they often have early-season tournaments and games against other large-conference teams on the road already scheduled. Oregon State owes Charlotte a game at Halton (the 49ers and Beavers played two seasons ago in Corvallis, Ore.), although that game hasn’t been scheduled. Major said he also would like to schedule games regularly at Time Warner Cable Arena against marquee teams. The 49ers have played Georgia Tech (2010) and Florida State in his tenure at Charlotte. He said a game against N.C. State at the uptown arena nearly was scheduled last season before the Wolfpack reconsidered due to its own scheduling issues.

Also an interesting note in the stDavidson article:

Murphy says both Davidson and Charlotte are content to alternate their annual rivalry game between their respective on-campus arenas. It’s possible, Murphy says, that Davidson and Charlotte could be part of a basketball doubleheader that would pair with the Belk Bowl in late December. There have been discussions about creating a college basketball event at Time Warner Cable Arena, though the idea has not gone beyond the talking stage. “We’ve said for years that we’d love to co-host a tournament with Charlotte,” Murphy says. “There’s nothing firm. We’ll see if it makes sense.”

I am not really interested in moving the Davidson game to TWC, but it would be awesome to host a tourny there - or even a non tourny style event cohosted with Davidson.

The Davidson game, on each side, has really become a great game with great atmosphere. I don’t want to lose that considering we are going to a conference that getting that level of excitement might be difficult.

Guess how surprised I am that the troll relocated TWC onto Davison’s campus to make his point…

Never ever let facts get in the way of obsessive hatred and butthurt.

To be fair, I’m quite sure Duke is absolutely horrified at the ridiculously hostile crowd they’re going to find at TWC tonight.

The paper version of the o has our tip time wrong in the story headline. Also AGAIN for the umpteenth time the o does not have our game point spread. Anyone know what it is?

My viewing option is the lower bowl of Halton Arena. Is anyone going to Picasso’s before the game?

Straight from work.

I will try to drop by there if possible.
