Anybody going to see Muse?
The original concert lineup on page 1 has been updated to include all scheduled shows at the major venues, and shows scheduled at the smaller ones updated through the end of August. More to come. Thanks for the patience.
HH2, thanks!
FYI, Flyleaf @ Amos’ on 9/17.
Not sure about BBRC on 10/6 @ Road Runner (aka Uptown) Amphitheatre. They are opening for Stone Temple Pilots and depending on which website you check, STP is either playing Charlotte on 10/6 or they’re not. Would actually prefer BBRC headlining, to be honest!
Anyway, I’ll be heading up to Asheville to see Porcupine Tree next week, along with Coheed & Cambria.
HH2, that Maroon 5 concert on 8/24 is actually at Belk Arena in Davidson, not Belk Theatre in uptown Charlotte.
Already on for Tea Leaf Green on the 29th at Neighborhood Theater…should be a good one.
Anyone else going to see Zac Brown Band Saturday?
AND
anyone know who is opening for them?

As mentioned earlier, I will be taking in a whole different musical genre on Saturday when I head up to Asheville to see Porcupine Tree and Coheed & Cambria.
I like Porcupine Tree and I love Coheed, which I saw here in Charlotte a few months ago. I thought they were amazing live. Also, 311 will play Fillmore on October 29.
311 @ The Fillmore 10/29

Anyway, looking forward to Saturday since it will be my first time seeing C&C.
Black Crowes on the 18th, can’t wait
Porcupine Tree show in Asheville on August 21st was great. My son and I had balcony seats, so had nice view of Steven Wilson “barefooting” it around the stage. Also a good vantage point to watch Gavin Harrison do his thing and understand why he’s won 4 consecutive reader polls (2007-2010) conducted by Modern Drummer magazine. Much heavier sound for this performance, but understandable considering PT sharing the bill with C and C. As such, heard several songs that weren’t performed in Charlotte back in April, including the haunting “Way Out of Here,” as well as “Blackest Eyes” and “Open Car.”
First time seeing Coheed and Cambria. Not really sure how to categorize them, but the crowd really seemed to love every moment. Claudio Sanchez not very talkative (unlike PT’s Wilson), but no one seemed to mind. Did one song where he must have been channeling Jimi Hendrix and Pete Townsend, especially when the amp got knocked over!
The Dear Hunter (the Boston band, not the similarly named Deerhunter from Atlanta) opened the concert with a short but well-received set. Made me think of a poor-man’s My Morning Jacket.
Granted, it is at the Fillmore, $90 a ticket is too high for my budget atm.
NEW SHOWS:
SHINEDOWN (ACOUSTIC)/Will Hoge-11/9-FILLMORE CHARLOTTE
BEN FOLDS-11/20-FILLMORE CHARLOTTE
Sorry about the lack of updating on the original concert list, getting on that tomorrow.
Go see live music.
Bob Dylan-Halton Arena Oct 14th…tickets on sale Friday
Isn’t he like 100 now? No one could understand what he was singing when he was younger. I can’t imagine having dentures helps his articulation. Will his nurse be out there with him to watch the O2 tank levels for him?

I’ve never been a fan, just giving people a heads up. Also that it’s really awesome to see concerts scheduled on campus here.
Its on campus? How will ticketing work for this? Are all the tickets for students and we old timers have to buy whatever is left over?
