South Carolina Men’s Soccer to Join Conference USA

I remember when South Carolina was an affiliate member of the Metro Conference in soccer back in the '90s. Didn’t realize that the Gamecocks have had the same coach since the program started 27 years ago.

What’s the benefit of doing that and not staying/playing with SEC?

Only three member schools in the Southeastern Conference compete in men’s soccer (South Carolina, Kentucky and Vanderbilt).

Those Niner/Gamecock tilts were all-out wars back in those days!
