V: They Return

So I’ve noticed this new show that is supposed to air after the last episode of lost. Is this a second season or something? Their making it sound like it is a second season, but I dont remember the first one airing.

Looks cool though.

This is the second half of the first season. Juliette from Lost stars in it. I watched the first few episodes. Just a retelling of the 80s mini series and show. I need to catch up with this and fringe. I am way behind on Heroes and I might just let that go.

It actually returns well before the last episode of LOST. March 30th I believe.

They had a four episode run in the fall. It was decent, nothing great. If LOST is a 10 and FlashForward is a 1, V is around a 6. So if you’re a sci-fi junkie like I am it’s worth checking out.

Have I mentioned recently how terrible FF is? I didn’t think it was possible to take such a potentially good premise and tell such an awful story.

I watched the first few episodes of FF and then lost track of it. I was planning on going back but the more I hear people agree with what you just said the more I think I might let that go too.

Hero’s season ended a couple weeks back.

Sweet Nova, I must of misheard the teaser. Are they going to be showing old episode before that or something? I looked on Netflix and V hasnt been released and if only 4 episodes were in the first season of V, I’d would love to catch up on it.

I like V a lot more than Lost, but I would also say that Lost is about a 0 or a -1.

I liked the first four episodes. It has potential. And Morena Baccarin is one of the hottest women on the planet.

Very true but she is hot - was hotter on Stargate with different hairstyle.

Try hulu or abc.com. And if it’s not on there try sidereel.com. I doubt they will reair the old episodes.

I’m more of a fan of Vandervoot, but it’s hard to go wrong with either.

And bet you loved the Transformers II and hated Inglorious Bastards.

Hated Transformers II, had no interest in Inglorious Basterds. QT is not a bad director, I just think his style is a little played out.

Well maybe your tastes aren’t that bad after all, but I’m not sure how any fan of decent TV could hate LOST. I hate most TV shows, but LOST is up there with Sopranos, old Simpsons, Seinfeld, and The Wire as one of the top shows of the last 20 years.

These new SciFi/Fantasy shows on the major networks like Heros, V and Kings are nice but the storylines are overly simplistic. Damn you Ron Moore, you and your Battlestar Gallactica and Caprica have ruined me for simple SciFi plots forever! Even watching old ST:DS9 is not as entertaining as before. I actually expect reasonable plots, storylines and drama from my SciFi now.

Haven’t seen the wire yet. I’ve heard it is excellent.

I watched the first episode and a half of Lost and it was poorly written, directed and acted. It was awful. I honestly do not understand how people like that show. V isn’t anything amazing, and the original miniseries was superior (this one lacks the allegorical resonance the first had), but nostalgia allows me to enjoy it more than anything else.

Network TV, by and large, is atrocious. There are some entertaining shows on premium cable though and commercial free to boot.

You just quit watching too soon. Like some tv shows it took them time to find their rythm. Certainly not every episode has been a winner, each episode can be written and directed by a different person. It is a tv show that has actually forced the audience to think, not just sit and watch. Michael Emmerson and Terry O’Quin have shown some serious acting chops.

That may be, but the only Abrams thing I’ve ever enjoyed was Star Trek and that was totally mindless. A lot of fun, though.

Word. Originally I thought LOST was stupid the first few times out. When I went back and watched alot of it, thats when I really got into it.

Like I said, it may be the greatest TV show of all time, but the second episode was so bad my girlfriend and I looked at each other and asked why were were forcing ourselves to watch this nonsense.

Well there is your problem! JJ has not been involved with the series for years. After I think the third season he helped them map out the end of the series - key plots, and then walked away to the movies.

Haha, well, my brother and sister watched the show. My sister said she would be amazed if I could like it. She said it was a pretty silly show, but she enjoyed it.

There’s your problem… she should have been in the kitchen.
