Wake is my 2nd team, and to me it was obvious that their fans were being sarcastic initially on the most recent charlotte post, with the âwipe the floor with youâ comments. However the discussion clearly took a turn for the worst as they continued by making fun of our campus and our universityâs level of prestige.
But this was to be expected, because anyone who has ever argued with a Wake fan knows that they cannot argue sports or stats for very long, and soon they will turn the discussion into a matter of financial status and educational credentials. The infamous âWeâre smarter than youâ comeback has been happening for years.
They tried to make fun of a 49er poster for making a statement about Prosser and Wakeâs current ACC record, saying that he âcame to flame but wanted an out to hide behind like a little girlâ. Its amazing to me that a fanbase which claims to be so intelligent (merely because they drop 40K a year on a degree) cannot recognize the irony in that remark.
I say after we win we go violate their tradition of toilet papering the Quad by bringing along some green toilet paper to remind them to never to take us for granted again.
absolutely not, i was merely suggesting why wake fans are gonna refuse to talk about this game, and why their responses should come as no shock to anyone.

Iâm sure Iâve been to way more Wake games than anyone on this board. They have always been my 2nd team, but I have recently found myself disliking them more and more because of a MINORITY of their fans.
There are 3 types of Wake fans. Types 1 & 2 are good fans.
The Triad residents that follow the local team but did not attend Wake.
The students/grads that do/did attend Wake but are respectful of others
The spoiled students/grads that do/did attend Wake and think they are so great because their mommy and daddy are paying way too much for their education. This group has been growing in the past 6 or 7 years. I call them Dookie Wannabees.
If their abnoxiousness gets too out of hand tomorrow and we have an insurmountable lead late in the game, we could always do an âOverpriced - Educationsâ chant while pointing at their student body⌠but please, do not make Niner fans look like bad guys. They did agree to play us. Weâll be better off in the long run to be supportive of our team while trying to be respectful of theirs.
Many of the fans tomorrow will never have attended Wake. Some will also be coming from Statesville, Salisbury, Lexington, etc. Thatâs Niner country too.

i dont know this guy but i hate him. He is apparently a Charlotte student, yet uses the term âweâ for Wake, and his avatar is a wake forest football player, geez.
Screw Wake and all the other ACC teams, they are AFRAID to come into Halton Arena to play usâŚwhich is why they demanded to only play us in the Bobcats Arena which is a complete crock and rips off the unversity in my opinion

I agree! Theyâre no better than us. Iâm sure there are schools out there will come to Halton âour homeâ. And, wonât demand playing in the rip off Bobcraps arena.
