Washington = Punk

If I was Eddie, I was would gotten up and beat his ass down…twice.

Once for tripping him at midcourt and the second for slamming him after the rebound near the end of the game. I was at the game and everyone in my section was livid!

Those moments aside, I thought he was one of the most impressive freshmen I’ve ever seen in CUSA if not the most impressive. He was better against us than Dwyane (yes his mother couldn’t spell it right) Wade was as a frosh.

I was surprised that the takedown was not intentional. It looked like a frustrated freshman trying to punk someone. Eddie handled it well though, but the refs let things get too out of control.

I kind of like Larry Hughes' game....

the Ref’s were NEVER in control of that game. One of the worse called games ever!!!

I agreee... the kid can score. I think he had about 5 turnovers and no assists though.

He’s dirty, he’s cocky, he’s brash…

But he’s a darn good player who can hit the big shot and create off the dribble. If he played in a Power Conference he’d be getting the same hype CP3 got last year. I loved watching this kid play and hope that Memphis keeps him for 2 or 3 more years.

Ya, from the TV it certainly looked like DWash was “giving” it to Eddie there during his 5th foul. Well… as much as any Freshman can “give it” to Basden. I was also looking for the intentional. It was a very rough game though. There were 2-3 different occasions where you could just count 2-3 fouls in succession, and nothing was called… on both ends.

D Washington though is gonna be SICK in a year or two (if he sticks around that long). I’m kinda glad we don’t have to play against him next season. The kid has got some serious game.

he’s a SG in a PG body…Can ball though.

Hopefully he doesn’t leave early. He can/will be an elite player if he hangs around

whatever kind of training and certification program college refs go through needs to be revamped, ASAP.

See…I kind of like the cocky, brash, arrogrant kid. Obviously, not while he’s killing us, but I do respect that.

When the game was over, there were probably 500 students down in the tunnel yelling at Washington and he just kind of looked up at us and smiled. I thought it was more of a sign of respect to the fans, the way we got into the game, than it was of a cocky kid.

The takedown was bad, I hope he was going after the ball and got frustrated. But him and Eddie showed some love for each other. Have to like that after the type of game that was played.

An immature freshman would’ve taking his shirt off and stormed off the court.

I can’t wait to see where this guy ends up.

I was one of the 500 of course. I said some nice things, then reminded them that they went home losers.

Washington needs to learn one lesson. If you talk the game, you’d better be able to deliver the goods. Next time you start woofing kid, you’d better win or expect to hear it. I’d love to see him in Halton again. He’s the type of player you can love to hate.

he is one heck of a player, i know he pushed off a lot but the kid can play. I thought the foul that was called on him when mitch just straight up threw him across the floor was terrible. but, oh well, im sure it was a make up call for something. also i knew we were going to win the entire time, but i just kept thinking that if we lost in a close one we should pull a mike davis and say that two of our baskets were goaltending that werent called and we should not be punished for a loss.

HE HAD 29 POINTS! thats pretty damn good. i could understand if he had 8.

Perhaps you may not understand what I’m saying.

If you start bumping your chest, flexing to the fans, hooting and hollering, winking at them when going to halftime and waving…you had better win or all the numbers don’t make a difference. You are going to catch some flack. In the end he missed some free throws, turned the ball over and got 4 silly fouls. He played well, but didn’t do enough to bring home the bacon and for that he got it good from the students (although to his credit he took it well).

Thank you, NINERID.

I was going to say the same thing. This kid did not even begin to turn it on until the beginning of January when we started conference play and Banks was suspended for grades. He pretty much has only really played like this for only the first 60 days of his college (starting-player) career! I will be surprised if we keep him past his sophomore year.

Great game. Hated losing to ya’, though!!

I think Washington can rule CUSA the next year or two if he sticks it out. Helluva ball player and he should only get better.

He was useless after Basden D’d him up late in the 2nd half.
