Was at the game. That performance was brutal. I've been going to games since '90 and that was one of the worst performances from a Niner team vs a lame ass FDU. You do not play like that vs a cupcake at HOME!! Play like that vs Terps and see what it gets ya. We'll see.
Yes. The performance wasnāt that great. And, yes. You would expect to handily defeat a ācupcakeā at home. But, just because Charlotte has a bad showing against a ālesserā (can I say that?) teamā¦ doesnāt mean we are a bad team.
It was a bad game, and watching the game, you could tell we were lethargic. We didnt have bad games against HP, App, SIU, WF, Davidson.
Looking at those teams, it looks like nobody else is having bad games vs them either. What looked like decent wins are turning out to be no big deal.

Tonight and Hofstra prove we are an avg team. I think we are going to get crushed against legit teams here soon, the sked is about to get brutal. As usual, we canāt score in the paint, its all about relying on perimeter shots.

Okay so everyone realizes lee had a bad game. But on top of that everyone had a bad game. Today we saw a team that was still on christmas break. We saw a crowd, well lack of a crowd, that was still on Christmas break. We also saw a lot of shots that were short, mainly our jumpers.
Basically Iām trying to say that the whole team was off. I woudlnt say weāre bad. We were just off. We shouldnt have only won by that much, we should have murdered them by 30+, but given the time of the year that we played, the lack of people there, the fact that our key player played bad (and we know he doesnt suck), Iām willing to say weāll be okay.
Iām pleased with our defense and our rebounding. Lee needs to reign it in a little when his shot isnāt falling. Really wish we could have got Ian more looks. Gaby was great tonight Metro. Blocked 6 shots, altered countless others. I hope Gaby continues to get more PT. Unlike some of our other players, his game is predicated on Defense. Defense almost always shows up. Offense can be āhit or moreā (terrible I know).
Also, it was good to see Coley didnāt loose any leaping ability with his minor knee sprain. Wish we would given him and Lamont more touches in the post. Mack looks solid with his back to the basket.
Hey metro, whatās your defenition of āgoodā, you think we are top 75? top 100? top 150? Just my opinion but I saw by the end of the year we are a top 60 team.
I think weāll be at least a top 75 team end of year. We could be top 50 if we get it together on the offensive side of the ball, as well as playing better on the road.

I am smiling, I have had 9 days off in a row and life is great! I just am stunned at beating FD by 6. Absolutely stunned. Teams like that have no business even pulling their bus onto campus. If you canāt beat them by more than that, there are major issues still.

We would be a very good team if the offense were as good as the defense. I think our defense will only get better if Gaby continues to get significant minutes. I hope his offensive game can come around.
I am wondering what has lutz been telling our PGs, Harris has not been doing any penetrating and just pass around the perimeters, I also didnāt see much penetration fro Gerrity. Seriously, wtf.

Coley was hurt but still played decent.
Goonjo played like a fking man tonight, 6 block shots, HALTON ARENA RECORD!!!
Mack did not shoot a single three pointer
We did well on free throw
We scored most of our points from the paint not 3 point land.
Also, their #22 hit quiet a lot of hand in the face wild ass shots.
It looks bad from the stat sheet, but if you saw the game in person, youāll definitely noticed the improvements on many different area. Not a great game, but not as bad as some people think.

I have to agree with metro somewhat, F-D shouldnāt be coming in to Halton even having a shot in the 2nd half. F-D is just as bad as Monmouth, they are someone you schedule to get a nice 25 point win at home, not one that you have to wait out till the end and hope you pull it out. I know we were up big, so what, we couldnāt build upon it.
This is the same exact problem we have had, and we will continue to have under Lutz. One guy will be the 3pt specialist, if you shut him down or slow him down for at least 1 half, youāve got a good damn shot at winning. Leemire is pretty much one deminsional on offense, everyone knows that, including defenses. They know we are going to run sets for him to jack up a 3, and teams (including the bottom feeders) have made it a mission to stop him.
Other teams main guy usually isnāt a one deminsional player, hell even great 3pt shooters have adjusted to keep the defense honest. When someone is playing you for the 3pt shot, thereās no reason why you shouldnāt be able to drive right by them, especially someone with Leemireās speed.
I guess the good thing is that we won and it wasnāt an embarassing loss, and that Coley, Gaby, and Anjuan continue to improve.
