UNC has screwed up royally. This will set them back years. Let’s go Niners!!!
I have to post here. In 1970, I came to Charlotte as Assistant to the Chancellor, Dean Colvard. “Integrity” defined him, and HIS motto was “Esse quam videri, To be rather than to seem”. THAT was the man. There was nothing “slick” about him. He was a country boy from Ashe County. Missed being born in a log cabin by months. But he was a mountain of integrity! There’s that saying we all know, “We stand on the shoulders of giants”. Dean Colvard was that giant! Miss Bonnie was incredible too. Power house!! But Clovard established what we love today. I can’t begin to express how much I admire him! I personally watched him face down politicians who tried to sway him into questionable decisions involving exceptional admissions! My own dad is the only man who can come even close to him in my life!
I wish that were true, but I’m still waiting for that institution to be held accountable for their actions just once.
I really don’t understand why this situation gets such traction in the media and mindshare.
