Brandan Wright, and Jared Dudley? I’m sick of Tarheels, it basically says, “hey we are never gonna make a commitment to winning, but please come out and cheer some good ole’ Carolina boys on”. And Jared Dudley? Very solid college player, but what is his NBA potential? How does this draft address any of their needs? Basically, this draft says to the people of Charlotte, plan on sucking for several years to come, and beyond. The Bobcats are the new Atlanta Hawks. 10 lottery picks running around on the court with no real idea how to play the game at that level. I would be suprised if Wallace resigns. I hope Jordan has some trades/free agents lined up.
I think this post is a couple of weeks too early.
Jordan NEEDS to do something to get an experienced and productive front court player. If Wright and/Dudley help him get it, so much the better.
It appears to be that too much red tape is involved in making trades anymore, so there are just trade proposals being stated tonight.
If he does nothing by mid July, I’d be pissed off.
The only definitive good thing for the city of Charlotte tonight …
THEY PASSED ON NOAH !!!
They deserve credit for that, IMO.
The Bobcats are closing in on a deal and there’s a good chance it involves the Golden State Warriors. I’m told management will emerge from the war room following the 36th pick, and the Warriors own that pick.
probably be reserves or draft picks, but ya never know.
Oh… the Bobcats… I saw the thread title and thought you bought an Observer this morning.
just traded wright for jason richardson according to espn

Thank GOD!!! I feel much better now. Richardson can score, and if nothing else, he will give some good highlights. I think with Richardson, Felton, Okafor, Wallace and Carrol they have alot of scoring threats. Just need to figure out how to play D, and they still lack a true center. They are much stronger than they would have if they kept Wright.

Don’t forget Herrmann, who exploded at the end of the season.

So is Wallace staying? Because I would think with acquiring Richardson, Wallace is gone.
JRich is definitely Wallace insurance. If he bolts, and the Bobcats can’t get Rashard Lewis in a free agency signing or sign-and-trade (what do they have to give?), then the Bobcats are still going to be in a bad position. If they can re-sign Wallace, they’re definitely way better off.

A starting lineup of Felton, Richardson, Wallace and Okafor would be an improvement over last season.
Richardson is a better 2 than anything they had a year ago.
They still need some frontcourt help…hope no one thinks Jemareo Davidson is it? (maybe a couple of years from now).
Carroll is an ideal 6th man.
May needs to prove he can stay healthy…before I have any expectations of him.

Wallace at small forward
Richardson at shooting guard
IMO, you need both.
Now all we need to do is get rid of Dudley and May and I’ll be happy.

Wallace is gone in my opinion (Jason Richardson costs too much to keep Wallace). I agree that the Bobcats need to get rid of May, but Wright will put on some weight and become a very good NBA player. I hate to say it, bc I never agree with him, but I’m with Steven A. Smith on this one. The Warriors got a better deal here. Dudley will be an average pro. He’ll be a decent bench scorer. Jason Richardson has been very overrated and a dissapointment. I don’t like the decision.
By the way, I know he probably wouldn’t get drafted, but did DA not even enter the draft?
I’m not gonna pass judgment on Jared Dudley yet. A few years ago I thought Boston drafting Ryan Gomes was a move that would be forgettable, but he’s turned out to be a very good player for the Celtics. Maybe Dudley can give us something similar…we’ll have to wait and see

I’m wondering that also, he wasn’t ont he NBA daft prospect list, I don’t know if thats because of ESPN’s opinion of if he didn’t put his name in the draft.
If the Bobcats don’t resign Wallace also they will be stuck in the same place next year, they would have just replaced a second tier player at SF with a second tier player at SG. Looks like Jordan is spending too much time on the Golf course.
jason richardson is a great pickup for the bobcats. a great player 19ppg, 7rbg, and 2apg (not to mention back to back slamdunk champ). hes a good leader and will also hopefully put some more a$$es in the seats.
and jared dudley is an a-hole. he has okay talent and already has the nba attitude (all about me). hopefully we can package him and may for another crafty vet.
I don’t think Jason’s the answer. He’s a 3 happy player who looked good because of Baron creating spacing problems. His salary is high for who he is, too.
Yeah, he scored alot of points, but the Bobcats aren’t going to give him the spacing allowed to shoot wide open shots.
Hopefully, he’ll go to being an attack the rim player.
Great trade…we also picked up Jermareo Davidson (picked 36th).
Richardson seems to be standup guy…
“After the Warriors failed to make the NBA playoffs for the 12th straight season, Jason Richardson organized a letter of apology to Warrior fans that ran in several Bay Area newspapers. Richardson remains one of the most popular players among Warrior fans.”

seems like he is going to be writing a lot of apology letters for the rest of his tenure in charlotte haha.

Seriously? Davis was more of a problem than anything. A shoot first point guard. Plus, the years when Richardson averaged over 20 per game, Davis played 20 games and 50 games.
