Judging from 2k’s quote, it looks like his coach misspelled Cincinnati. That could be a good sign for us in that Cinci is not that high on his list. Then again, maybe not.
That’s not from his coach, it’s from Rick Lewis, a very reputable scout (Colby’s dad).

Nice touch that he is still pitching in. I hope we will continue to see him in the stands in the future.

65 rated 2 star kid. Barely top 100 in his position, and he’s 6-8 and weights 200 pounds. (Do these parents not feed their children?) Not sure on what is the rush here.
We got Woods who is a solid 3 almost 4 star recruit to verbal early. There has to be other kids…more qualified that we could still pursue. Just don’t see the rush to lock this up right now.
RT @HHHardwood: 2014 Fayetteville (NC) forward Zane Waterman is down to St. Joe’s, Charlotte, and Manhattan. Read more inside: http://t.co/iVCQ93eSNV
Has already have visit to St Joes and obviously didn’t pull the trigger during/after it.
If he has already ruled out St Joes, I like our chance over Manhattan.

Keep in mind, during HS get gets to play SF. During AAU his travel team puts him in the posts. So during heavy evaluation periods he’s playing out of position.
From what I’ve learned lately on him, he’s going to be a SF in college. Shot 45-50% from 3pt land in HS last year.
Can he play defense, block out for rebounds, and drive the middle too? If so, sign him up?
Definitely has more of an offensive skillset at this point. He’s pretty athletic, don’t let the skin tone fool you.
People put way too much emphasis on site ratings. Bottom line, if the staff sees something they like, I think we should trust them. Most guys they bring in seem to do what the staff expects and wants them to do on the court.

Sometimes it is better to grab under the radar guys. When you focus all your efforts on hitting home runs on the recruiting trail, you end up striking out like we did for 2013. It wasn’t until late spring that we signed our first freshman and it took until last week to finish out the class.
I really like what I’ve read about Waterman and he looks really athletic in his highlight reels. It’ll be nice (if we sign him) to have a 6’8 guy that can knock down the three and handle the ball. He’s no Gokhan Sirin, that’s for sure.
I searched for some clips on YouTube and found a couple. I think he will play on the wing in college, but could fill in at the 4 if needed. The clips are not that great but it gives you a glimpse.
