"The Charlotte, N.C. area is one of the budding hot beds for talent and the 49ers have done a great job of trying to circle the wagons around the Queen City prospects.
Class of 2010 guards Daryl Traynham, who played at Vance last season, and Ian Miller, a Rivals150 prospect from United Faith, will be on campus. Class of 2011 guards Jacoby Davis and Marquis Rankin, both from Vance, are also expected on campus.
Hassan Whiteside, a sleeper center from Charlotte who is now at the Patterson School, could make a return trip to the Atlantic 10 school. Canadian guard Jason Calliste from Quality Education in Winston-Salem is high on the recruiting board fro Charlotte and he’s scheduled for a visit. "

Wow, all of these guys are here this weekend?
This very well could be a historical weekend in 49er history if a couple of these guys sign down the road and go on to great college basketball careers.
We’ll have either 3 or 4 scholarships for 2010. Phil Jones could get his year back. Originally it was looking like 4 or 5 to fill but with Gerrity leaving, it allows us to space it out a little more getting 3 for next year (Sherrill, Braswell, Whiteside or Lamont Jones).
Seniors 09: Ian Andersen (SG), Phil Jones ('C), Dijuan Harris (PG), Rashad Coleman (SG)
That’s 5 guys from Charlotte (3 played at Vance) and 1 Canadian who plays at Mt. Zion in Durham. Hopefully we can lock a few up in the future or now (depending on class). 3 Good PGs in there too, Rankin already has some big names on his list including Florida & Wake, with us showing interest. Might have to catch a Vance game or two in the future with some Niner gear to let them know we want them to stay home :).
