According to their official schedule, they have Wake as an exhibition game. Are they both right?

and now. introducing the starting lineup for the mount olive pickles
.

According to the article, they mentioned the exhibition against Charlotte in relation to Pfeiffer.

The Falcons aim to lead in the Conference this year with their speed, quickness, and depth. This year’s schedule is highlighted by an exhibition game against the Charlotte 49ers.

The Pfeiffer Falcons.

I hope it’s an error. I’d rather us scrimmage Benny and the Hawks again.

you beat me to it.

I just clicked on the link and realized the same thing.

Anyway, the Mt Olive references were kinda fun while they lasted.

DID YOU KNOW…the J.V. teams at Mt Olive are called “baby gurkins”?

I hope it's an error. I'd rather us scrimmage Benny and the Hawks again.

NLP, we are talking about the open, ticketed, scrimmage. Not the “closed door” scrimmage.

Talked to Benny for about 30 minutes yesterday. He’s excited about the season but knows with all the youth, there will be growing pains in November-December. Sort of worried about a freshman kid who had chest pains Monday during conditioning, had been doing the entire battery of heart tests before being cleared, results were due yesterday afternoon. After the Russian hockey player incident, it’s a precaution.

He has six recruits coming in for Midnight Madness tomorrow night. Only one of them is for next season, he has one scholarship open.

And yes… he was excitied about football!

HP, any idea when we’re gonna be able to get them on the schedule?

forD, it’s not likely to happen with the current coaches. But never say never.

Moss is extremely loyal to Bobby. He’s getting the huge check from Wake Forest over the next four seasons, so a the buy games are not so important. As far as their fans are concerned, East Carolina is the rival, and they have on ongoing series with the Pirates.

Not sure I understand why coaches will or won’t play former assistants, players, etc. Bobby won’t schedule UNC by the Sea while Benny is there, but Calipari will take on former player/assistant Derek Kellogg during the latter’s first season as a HC and against the former’s old team no less! Go figure!

Bobby doesn’t want to hurt Benny while trying to establish his program. There were several down there who did not like the coaching choice, and the cupboard was not exactly full. Benny has 8 freshmen/sophmores and only one senior this season.

They might agree on a home-and-home series sometime. Two-for-one series, etc. create an imbalance the next season unless you’re one of those teams that never travels in Nov/Dec. There would not be a one-time game with UNCW because the Seahawks have never had home “buy” games in their Division I history and can’t afford one. Another example, had the 49ers continued the deal with Davidson next year, it would have created, for the time being, an imbalance on home-road games for 2009-2010. Would you want to play Davidson and Winthop both on the road in the same season? Ummm, yes to home/neutral site contests though.
