Just saw Puddle of Mudd and Neurosonic recently at Tremont. Upcoming shows (either my choice, my son’s or both) include…

Symphony X and Epica (May 2)
Filter (May 21)
Seether and Flyleaf (May 23)
Chevelle (May 24)
The Cure (June 16)
Nightwish (Sept 24)

July 28 at Verizon:

This begs the question: Why does UNC Charlotte not have any concerts? Itd be a great way to get more exposure to high school students.

The last concert that was on campus was Counting Crows and Fiona Apple back in 1998 I believe. The turnout was not good.

4/13 Gov’t Mule, Raleigh
4/29 Jimmy Buffet, Charlotte
5/2 Gov’t Mule, New Orleans
5/3-5/4 New Orleans Jazz Fest (lot’s of artists)
7/1 Dave Matthews Band, Charlotte
7/4 Dave Matthews Band, Charleston

Spoon/The Walkmen - Durham 4/13
Radiohead/Liars - Charlotte 5/19
REM/Modest Mouse/The National - Raleigh 6/10

I think i’m going to a Styx concert sometime this year. not sure of when/where, but i’ll update this post as i find out info.

Went to a concert of theirs either last summer or the one before and it was pretty good. They play an 18 minute song that features alot of their hits.

recommend seeing them if you can

Sat 04/26/08 Juice Newton Cricket Arena

You better believe Ill be at this show…

No, there were several that I know of after that. I know Garbage and Lit came in 1999, and Wyclef Jean and Kelis in 2000. I was working for CAB at the time. There may have been more since then, but I left CAB in 2002.

I think there are still small concerts every semester. There was a battle of the bands a couple months ago.

that battle of the bands was in rdh’s basement, wouldn’t consider it even being close to a concert.

All bands start small. There’s good concerts all the time in small venues.

I agree. If we got a decent name to come to halton it would easily fill up now.

Run, you’re the man and all, but holy crap, I’d rather stick hot pokers in my ears! Nightwish?? Ahahahahah!

It wasn’t that bad. I was there. The acoustics sucked and Fiona went on some kind of anti-relationship rant then suddenly realized it was Valentine’s Day weekend and she had made an ass of herself.

It was better than in '92 when The Connells played the mine shaft. The opening act was some poor comedian who literally got pelted until he gave up. That show set on campus events back a few years. Connells rocked though.

I’d love to go to the first and the last one. That last show will be phenomenal. I also really dig Spoon, and I’d pay to see the Walkmen just to see them play Another One Goes By. That song is aural heartbreak at the bottom of a bottle of bourbon. One of my favorite songs of the last few years.
