We’re supposed to have a big article in the Observer tomorrow. That way, others in the Charlotte community (those other than NNN members) will know we have national prominence at something.

There is soooo much going on in sports now, I don’t know if the Observer has room to mention that a top 5 ranked local golf team begins their run at a national title today. I’m guessing it will be mentioned tomorrow…

I have close ties to the golf team and have been bragging about their national rankings to others. I have been called a liar. And have been told the good golf teams in the state were mentioned in an article 2 weeks ago.

Gosh, I hope I’m wrong.
But the tone of this thread indicates to me that the “big article” didn’t happen.
Heavens to betsy, how could that have occurred?
Maybe they (the paper) will do better next time…or the time after that…or the time after that…etc.
Regardless, how many times it takes, I think the Observer has the best interests of the Charlotte 49ers athletics at heart.
ETA: I just remembered why they would’ve pushed it back. Today was free (with purchase of drink) southern style chicken day at McDonalds. I’m sure they had their reporters doing background prep work for their weekend special section…“Do ACC Hoops Coaches prefer Southern Style Chicken Biscuits or Sandwiches?” with the special insert poster: See if good ole’ Coach Roy gets a medium or large drink?
