2012 Football Recruiting Assessment

So is there a 2012 FB Camp? I’ll take a week off of work to volunteer as janitor, I don’t care, anything.

My son attends Western Guilford and told me a scout from Charlotte (Mullen?) will be at tonight’s game against Ragsdale.

Kyle Farlow named the 2A State Player of the Week after throwing for roughly 400 Yards and 4 TDs.

From NCPreps.com:

2A CLASS

Kyle Farlow of Randleman High School has been selected as the We-It Athletics/NCPreps.com 2A Player of the Week for Week 2. Farlow completed 22 of 36 passes for 402 yards with 4 touchdowns in the Tigers’ 50-40 win over Central Davidson.

@highschoolot Southeast Raleigh QB David Washington has received an offer from UNC-Charlotte.

Have to believe this is a James Adams target.

This would be a good get for us. I have seen the kid play and he’s definitely got some talent, and even though I have never had any conversations with the kid everyone at the school thinks he is a quality young man. I wouldn’t be surprised though if he goes to a bigger program.

We have not offered, yet.

Rooney isn’t expecting to get a scholarship but said he would like to play college football. His top choices of schools are UNC Charlotte, Appalachian State, Elon, Furman and Coastal Carolina.

Andrew Goodman - Mallard Creek QB

Not sure anyone has mentioned this. In the o today: “West Charlotte’s Greg Cunningham, Jr. got an offer from Charlotte his father, Greg Sr., said. Cunningham, 6-foot-2 and 185 pounds, plays cornerback for the Lions.”

Andrew Meier #74 DT/OG Maryland Christian Saints Baltimore, MD.

MCS football doesn’t get a ton of publicity since they are a new team for private school with no football programs and homeschoolers, but they’ve played Baltimore area Calvert Hall, Gilman School, Boys Latin, Archbishop Curley and Loyola and he has gone head to head with several FBS recruits. They won the national homeschool football championship last year in Florida (homeschool football is big in Fla. eg Tim Tebow).

I’ve seen him go head to head with 4 star and 3 star recruits going FBS and put them on the ground. Even though he was only able to start football as a Junior, he tremendous natural talent. (Even though I’m biased, he did earn the starting spot over several other players that had been on the team for 4 years)
My cousins went to UNC Charlotte and I have been a fan of 49ers baseball for years. I visit often, and I would love to see my brother help start this tradition at Charlotte. He is considering a few other FCS and FBS, though no actual offers from FBS yet, just film requests.

welcome impact. Has he been in contact with our coaching staff at all?

I’ve seen this kid play, Gilman has two Rivals top DT’s and rarely give you more than 2 or 3 seconds to throw. He still managed to pick them apart pretty well.

I think he filled out a questionnaire when I told him about the team last night. Right now he has been pretty much talking to Towson (FCS)since they are local to MD and have recruited from his team in the past, and a few other FCS teams in NY where we grew up (my Dad was the line coach for NY’s section 1a champion team, so those teams up there trust his word more).

our family spent a lot of time in Charlotte visiting my cousins when we were younger, so when they told me about the team I was pretty excited. I think it would be great to be part of the first team out of a great school like Charlotte. I think he would be interested for the same reasons.

FYI

NCAA contact period starts back Monday November 28th.
