2013 Summer Movies

This is The End was funny. Not as funny as I thought it would be, but ever since The Hangover, these types of comedies have been getting bombarded with media attention so I think it kind of desensitizes me to it. Oh well. Still laughed a ton.

Took the kids to see Despicable Me 2.

They didn’t even try with the plot, but ultimately, it doesn’t matter. Movie is ridiculously cute, especially his 3 girls (Agnes is adorable), there are tons of sight gags for the kids, and the cgi animation is the best I’ve ever seen, despite the intentional cartoony-ness. I said “wow” to a couple of scenes - they were so vivid.

Worth the cinema price. Just ignore the half assed plot and enjoy yourself. Kids loved it.

It made a killing too - something like $141Mil.

Saw World War Z during the rainy day at the beach last week. I loved it. I think it may be my favorite movie of the summer thus far.

I agree

Damnit. Was looking for recommendations earlier tonight. Went with This is the End. It was horrible. Total crapfest. I wanted a refund.

My other choice was World War Z.

When given a choice between summer comedy and summer action never, ever choose the comedy.

Me and the fiance seen The Heat last night with Sandra Bullock, must say its a pretty damn funny movie. Definitely worth seeing.

Especially at a movie theatre with the surround sound. Heck even the woman can’t say, “can you turn it down?!”

Took the kids to see Monsters U over the weekend. It was pretty fantastic. The kids freakin loved it.

Is there a better studio company than pixar? I dont think so.

I haven’t heard much bad about This is the End. Most people I know loved it. I can just wait on comedies.

There’s a scene in This is the End where Rogen and Franco get high and plan out “Pineapple Express 2”, with some really awful ideas.

That scene is pretty much a documentary for how they concocted this one. It’s pretty dumb. The only laughs are the desparate shock value type. They can do better. It’s not even as good as Superbad and all the penis jokes.

So This Is The End must be pretty good.

best movie ever. See it 5 times.

If you have any semblance of maturity, you will hate it.

I however do not, and giggled like a schoolgirl for 90 minutes.

you will love “The Heat”

Saw Star Trek II over the holiday, pretty amazing, I think it was better than the first one.

Not a summer 2013 movie - but I had to share this somewhere besides the shoutbox…

I cannot wait to see this.

Pacific Rim was great! I loved it. The story was pretty shallow, but it was obvious that this is Del Toro’s homage to the Japanese monster movies of the past. I actually probably enjoyed this more than Ironman and Star Trek and it is right up there with WWZ.

Wolverine is up next!

Despicable Me 2 is fantastic. Laughed with my kids the whole way through it.

The end where the minions sing “I swear” is comedy gold.
