FWIW, I think Keatts is a good (really good) get for them based on his background. He was a guy that I would have wanted us to bring in to talk with if Major was dismissed. Hopefully for his sake the AD is back in order there, I know they were having some issues.

Not all schools require a degree to be head coach or even as an assistant. The issue with the Manhattan guy was he apparently lied on his resume that he graduated from Kentucky, which is what O’Leary did. With Eddie Jordan at Rutgers, it wasn’t that he lied, a bio on the website said he had graduated, but he never portrayed himself to the university that he had a degree. Ultimately, it wasn’t a requirement for the job.

That’s why Jordan is working on finishing his degree at the State University of New Jersey.
