2018-19 C-USA Basketball Predictions, Scores, and Rankings

While WKU has yet to live up its preseason hype, Charles Bassey has done enough to make this top ten freshman list (he’s #9).

Latest on the Rice @ UTEP clock snafu.

It sucks for them as they should have won. However, I could see it getting really dangerous to change the outcome of a game 3 or 4 days later. That would set a precedence that could impact things big time come tournament season.

I’m glad the commissioners office admitted they got the call wrong.

They can’t go back and change the outcome of games or every team that is wronged by refs will start wanting the same treatment. Hopefully the conference office uses this as a tool to set better standards for review and officiating moving forward.

I’ll hold my breath anxiously.

There have been other game outcomes like this over the years with other teams/conferences. The decision to acknowledge error, but not change the final score outcome have been the call in those cases as well. Too late to replay the final seconds now, so everyone needs to move on, even in righteous pain.

Agree about acknowledgement of error, but that is meaningless without measures to minimize future occurrences and seems C-USA has said as much.

WKU (a top 12 disappointing team) and Marshall ( D’Antoni takes brother’s advice on team line up) both make Jeff Goodman’s latest “Goody Bag.”

Good ol’ C-USA! First place UTSA falls to last place Middle Tennessee, while Hilltoppers in free fall after losing at home to FIU. Now a three way tie for last between Charlotte, MT, and WKU. Marshall new leader after dispatching FAU.

Not just clock management issues with C-USA officials! ODU beat Southern Miss today, though some question about whether Monarchs won by 14 or 18. Geez!

Charles Bassey still on the list.

Seems no one wants to be in first place for long. Last weekend’s C-USA co-leaders North Texas, UAB, and UTSA (each 6-2 after Saturday’s action) all lost either yesterday or tonight. ODU now alone atop the standings at 7-3 after beating the Mean Green in Norfolk.
