2019 C-USA Football Preseason, Scores, and Rankings

Hopefully we can beat both WKU and FIU which will help get us to bowl

Everything I have read and heard is WKU’s new coach is like a carbon copy of the coach they fired. I’m not completely surprised by this score. I think WKU lost to Maine last season also.

WKUs new coach would have been fired as the OC at Tennessee if WKU had not given him the job. We saw his offensive schemes first hand last year and obliterated them. We are not good enough to take anyone for granted but theres very little logic to favoring them over us. We could have named our score against them last year.

It was a very bad night for CUSA. WKUs weakness was revealed, FIU who is one of the conference favorites got smoked by Tulane, and UAB nearly lost to a FCS.

Conference badly needs to have a good day Saturday.

Like to win the league?

I watched a good bit of FAU, that Robison kid is going to be trouble in CUSA.

I think it’s very tough to make snap judgements after game one. We will know more about most everyone after next week. I’ll know a bunch more about who we really are.

Win the division, maybe. The talent is there.

ODU barely beats Norfolk State

North Texas is still a bridge too far I think. We’ll have a better idea after Week 3 where we stand.

We need to bowl this year.

Love the excitement, but we need to slow our roll a bit. We beat a bad FCS team, it’s exactly what we should have done. Next week will tell us a lot about what this team is. I’ll be better prepared to say I how good we might be after App.

Have we ever been ranked as high as #6 in the CUSA Power Rankings?

I got into a little exchange with the guy from cusa report this weekend on Twitter.

Dude never has anything positive to say about us. Last year we ā€œbeat bad or or reelingā€ teams, had a ā€œzombie football teamā€, or should ā€œrun triple option because that what bad teams doā€.

I showed him all his predictions on us last season (all four touchdown losses), his picking FAU #1, middle and uab #s 5 &8 last season and basically told him ā€œdo some homework and take some ownership of you prognosticationsā€.

I don’t mind if journalists/people are wrong on their prediction if they give a thought out reason why. ā€œSaying Charlotte was 1-11 last season so they’ll be 1-11 this seasonā€ is lazy to me.

On the note, I think we will win three games (GW, I’m a genius right?, UMASS and UTEP). I think we will lose five (app, Clemson, Marshall, unt, and FIU).
The four will be toss up games. From hardest to easiest, I’d say odu, WKU, middle, fau.

I think the we are weak on the Ol, and QB and of course the biggest Charlotte foitball killer of all:depth. I think the defense is above average at the line and league average at LB and DB. Kickers are good, but coverage is always an issue.

To stay transparent, I said that last season,we would win three games, likely Fordham,OdUand UMass. I also said we had no chance in our last six games (we won two of them.

So thi season, if all goes wrong, I’m looking 3-9 If all goes right, we can win as many as eight. I’m officially predicting 4-8 though in 2019.

We’ll never get anywhere with a negative or disparaging attitude. We go 13-0

LOL. I guess that P5 bias will keep us out of the national championship tournament, then and prevent us from playing and winning that 14th game.
