I think this bubble is bursting-paying guaranteed $millions to coaches and staffs, whether they get fired or not. Maybe texas still being an oil state will make them the last to care, but the money has to run out sooner or later. I wonder how much today’s kids will care about big time sports when they are money-making ages.

The difference in resources from the top programs to the rest of division 1 is ridiculous. Buyouts like this give the entire sport a bad image when in reality only a select few programs can afford to operate like this.
Other than b/c you’re Texas, why would you announce the Sarkisian hire before the national championship game? Is the guy coaching in this final game or has he already jetted off to Austin?

The stats are showing that each generation cares less. I think we are going to see some serious struggles with sports in the next 20-30 years.
