NCAA catching a lot of flack over the four year transition period rule that bars teams from participating in NCAA championship events, but crazy that the rule apparently also applies to the NIT!
AAC is looking like a potential 3 bid league, interesting that 2 of the teams will be in the ‘new’ AAC conference.
Interesting stat if you look at their all conference teams all the underclassman stay in the ‘new’ AAC as well.
Other interesting stat, if i counted correctly we were 2-4 this year against our ‘new’ AAC teams.

Gotta give Penny Hardaway and Tim Jankovich credit for putting the AAC in position to be a 2-3 bid league instead of the one bid it looked like after OOC play. Latter certainly saved his job after four years that were mediocre at best. Not sure if Memphis would have ditched Penny if the Tigers hadn’t done a complete 180 after the 9-8 start, but his seat likely would have been pretty hot going into next year otherwise.

Yep. It was evident on the TV coverage.
If Memphis holds on to beat UCF, up by 20 in first half.
3/4 of the four teams in the AAC Semi’s will be in the ‘new’ AAC. Memphis, Smu & Tulane. Fourth team in Semi’s is Houston.
That hurts. They have went twice during our drought.
Someone remind me why we didn’t hire Mike Young in the last 5 years, instead we got Price then we got Sanchez, sure does look like he can coach… must be nice.
Why hire a coach you could lose to a bigger program in four years when you could keep one for five and then pay him not to coach here anymore?

Anyway, this is obviously disgusting. Also, sounds like the dude needs to be paying a little more attention to his job and a little less to the crowd and/or cheerleaders.
