I actually liked what a watched last night. Sure thereās room for improvement, but four ānewā starters will do that, especially against a team that has some āageā to it and has been generally successful the last few seasons. I was disappointed to watch the lead slowly evaporate, we missed several wide open shots (especially some 3s), but I donāt think last yearās team would have won that game. Khalifa was a nice surprise, Butler plays with an energy, as does Trappā¦lots to like after just one game. I think weāll look back and see this was a solid win.
Perhaps Wes Miller should have recruited his younger brother for the latterās final season. Grad transfer Walker Miller had 13 pts and 4 rebs for Monmouth in spoiling the home opener for the Bearcats and their new coach!
Interesting; not to make too much out of this, but does it show the more influence Sanchez has on the the team the more confused they play. We beat Georgia in exhibition then beat a good Monmouth team out of the gate and have really gone down hill from there.
