2021-22 MBB - Monmouth @ Charlotte, 11/9 7:00 PM CUSA.tv

Flip side, we won the TO margin 15-7 and locked them down from beyond the arc.

Sanchez is never gonna try to beat someone by out rebounding them, he cares about turnovers and shutting them down defensively. We did that.

We shoot at an average clip and we blow them out, I’m happy from a stats perspective we won despite shooting poorly. Normally we don’t win those.

Good thing is those stats don’t have to beat any other teams last night. They just had to beat the team we were playing.

It’s one game. We won. Let’s see what the next few games bring.

I actually liked what a watched last night. Sure there’s room for improvement, but four ā€œnewā€ starters will do that, especially against a team that has some ā€œageā€ to it and has been generally successful the last few seasons. I was disappointed to watch the lead slowly evaporate, we missed several wide open shots (especially some 3s), but I don’t think last year’s team would have won that game. Khalifa was a nice surprise, Butler plays with an energy, as does Trapp…lots to like after just one game. I think we’ll look back and see this was a solid win.

And if Trevor would shut the F up for two seconds, Matt could have even described it as it happened for rhe listeners :flushed:

well, there was a delay between video and audio. Need to get that worked out. Video was a couple of seconds ahead.

I don’t think I’ve posted this highlight reel yet:

Just beat Sincy. Maybe a bit over reaction to the close win?

Said the same. Monmouth is a senior, solid team.

Yep. Good win. Hope losses to toledo and drexel will be good losses later on.

Perhaps Wes Miller should have recruited his younger brother for the latter’s final season. Grad transfer Walker Miller had 13 pts and 4 rebs for Monmouth in spoiling the home opener for the Bearcats and their new coach!

Has someone done a welfare check on that younger ref at our game against them?

Interesting; not to make too much out of this, but does it show the more influence Sanchez has on the the team the more confused they play. We beat Georgia in exhibition then beat a good Monmouth team out of the gate and have really gone down hill from there.

Maybe we can get King Rice to come in as our head coach…….

No thanks. There’s a screw missing
