As devastated as we get after a lossâŚwe all still understand that we have a ways to go. Any loss is bad but not totally unexpected or devastating in and of itselfâŚand thereâs always a chance to redeem ourselves the next week.
Where App is as an established winning program thatâs still struggling for respectâŚthey feel they have to win nearly every single game to maintain and build on that current status level. They have won their conference and a bowl game every year since going FBS and they still have to hear about US being poached for a conference upgrade before them.
They probably legitimately feel like 1 loss ruins their seasonâŚespecially a conference loss. With that type of letdown they could easily lose focus quick and have a huge slide if they arenât careful.
Wouldnât hurt my feelings anyâŚbut will be interesting to see how the rest of the season goes.
I believe it foreshadows the beginning of the end of their âdynastyâ.
ECUâs only success comes from favorable âeastern North Carolinaâ politics. The UNC system sent favorable funds to the eastern part of the state primarily to control our growth, and minimize the threat we presented to their flagship school. Imagine if Charlotte had received this type of support in the past. Charlotteâs tremendous growth has always been in spite of this. Our potential remains unlimited.
