Good win. My only observations were Threadgill has finally put on some needed size. UVA kid Millic looked a little slow and tenative and is not a great athlete and would have trouble with ACC bigs and is probably why we have him. Berry really surprised me with his quickness and is a fluid athlete.Looked unsure with his handle but need to find him more minutes.

Aly was wearing a knee brace. Anyone know if that is simply preventative or if there is something we should be concerned about there?

We won by 15
I think Coppin State was a good first game for us as they were very physical and tested our ability to handle the ball under a pressing defense. A much better test than playing Division III teams Like Davidson and Appalachian we’re doing last night.

I think he injured his knee playing with an Egyptian national team over the summer IIRC

Hope its nothing serious. He’s probably the biggest difference maker we have. His passing opens up our offense so much more.

I thought the ball movement was great all night. It zipped around and we found open shots most of the time, without eating the entire shot clock.

Sessoms hit some tough inside shots with defenders in his face . When the defense is trying to defend the 3, they’re spread out and any guard with a quick first step can get to the rim. I thought we defended well all things considered. Sometimes you pick your poison. Personally , if teams get in a grove with 3 pointers, it’s disaster. I say defend the 3 and hopefully the bigs can step up inside.
Moral of the story - don’t hire an NBA legend and Hornets assistant to be your head coach.

I was trying to be positive. I was also not huge on Trapp and I think we could be better with Patterson.
I wouldn’t trade him for Trapp. Even after one game.
