The 3 runs in the 9th were meaningless, game was already over.
Didn’t realize that. They can certainly hit the ball and most certainly the long ball.
I wanted to 2 wins this weekend. We are now in a position to sweep.
Colby was the fist right hander to pitch this weekend. Have we announced a starter for tomorrow? Wondering if pitching lefties is part of our strategy.
Just checked Warren Nolan live RPI. The Niners are up 70 spots this week. Currently at 82. Still have work to do to get an at-large.
Our biggest competition, Southern Miss and La Tech are at home. The year is shaping up nicely.
It’s an absolute wind tunnel out here. Blowing straight out. You’re never going to keep them off the board. But notice how many of those HRs we’re solo shots. We’ve used 5 pitchers in 2 days. Sets up nice for tomorrow.
Side note: the salt from the ODU fans is awesome. They’re sitting out here talking about how great the Sun Belt is and they’re glad they’re not going to the AAC. There was even a UNC-Concord reference. The Old Dirty fans and the Appies deserve each other.
Agreed. That was why I made a comment about their runs being scored off HRs. Also wondering if we are making an effort to pitch lefties because of how the wind blows out.
I haven’t seen many ODU fans in the stands on the broadcast. You would think as big as this series is for both teams, it would be packed.
Lexington, NC guy Lancaster was great today!
They’re mainly in the patio area down the RF line. If I had their stadium, I wouldn’t sit in it either
It is remarkable they’re as consistently good as they are with that turd.
Between Goose, Wilson, Lancaster, and Kramer, they have not had fun with our lefties.
Just sitting here trying to remember exactly when ODU was invited to join the AAC. You might want to ask them that tomorrow if they bring up the subject.
clt says odu would jump at a chance to join the AAC.

Let’s break out the brooms tomorrow!!!
Huge game today and we stepped up to the challenge to clinch the series. Lots of different players stepping up in different ways this weekend.
Now we’ll probably throw C-USA Pitcher of Week Cam Hansen at them going for the sweep!!
Any news on McCabe?
From the D1 article:
He is working his way back from an oblique injury that forced him to miss seven games. He returned Tuesday and played three innings, getting three at-bats.
Charlotte head coach Robert Woodard said the 49ers will continue to try to take it slowly with McCabe as long as he is making steady progress, but added, “The difference between him having two at-bats versus zero could be the difference in the game. … We’re just keeping it a level at which it’s still getting better and not getting worse. We’re kind of walking that line and making sure that we continue to progress.”
So McCabe’s injury has nothing to do with last years Injury (foot as I recall)? I was worried this was something chronic. Guys have indeed stepped up lately, but Big Maple takes us from a really good team to a great team.
#BigMaple was available to PH yesterday. He’s getting there. Hopefully soon.
Great information. This confirms his recent use. Thanks.
