Campbell usually has a pretty solid program and it will be a good test on the mid-week.

They lost a series to App opening weekend at home, but just beat WVU in a series this past weekend.

In the midweek they are 3-2 with wins over NC State and UNCW.

With 5 games this week, it will be interesting how we use the pitching staff over the next 2 games.

How in the world does App have a RPI of 98 with a record of 7-11? And we sit 152 with a 13-6 record. RPI’s are really out of wack sometimes.

It does seem out of wack, especially since they lost to NC A&T last week.

They played 3 games vs the #10 RPI team Georgia Southern over the weekend and won one of those. I guess that is what is keeping them up.

IIRC, it was considerably higher this time last year (like top 45 or 50)…neither of these games will be easy, especially away from the Hayes.

You can find that info in our blog post from last week, comparing numbers over the past 3 seasons going in to conference play.

Lol… “Read the Blog NA, you lazy bastard”.

Good writeup. Answers all my questions.

You said it, not me.

I believe the reason our RPI is low is the lack of road games. Should get a nice boost after playing ODU. I want to say APP’s RPI went up after we won 2 out of 3 against them.

Not much talk on this game tonight here. I guess it will pick up later…

We haven’t announced a starter but I’d guess Quinton Martinez or Hale Sims, since neither pitcher threw this weekend. Not sure what to expect form Campbell tonight but they’re usually a very solid team.

Davidson game has been moved from Uptown to the Hayes due to weather tomorrow.

clt asks why move to the Hayes tomorrow?

There’s probably a better chance to get the game in on our turf field than uptown. Also, the Knights probably don’t want anyone destroying their field in a wet game, just a few weeks before their season starts. The forecast still doesn’t look good but there may be a window to get the game in.

McCabe grimacing after after reaching first base during his third at bat, singling in a run. Baker came in to run for him. He also didn’t look good when he slide into home in the second inning. Couldn’t really tell what his injury might be.

He was also hitting from the right side against right handed pitching which I am sure has something to do with being hurt. Still went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI’s.

He is a difference maker. Our lineup is so much more potent with him in it.
