Iām glad I care about it again. I remember those days in the late '90s and very early 2000s when I would plan my entire life around our schedule.

We do have an easier schedule than the projected top teams though. The AAC makes their matchups based on who is projected to be a top 4 team so we get more top teams matching up against each other to increase odds of multiple bids. In theory at least.
UAB plays Memphis, FAU, and SMU twice for example and we only play those schools Once. The best team we play twice in conference play is USF.
So while I agree that our conference slate is not shockingly easy, we have an easier schedule ahead than UAB, Memphis, FAU, and SMU do.
As a Niner though, Iām always anticipating everything that makes me happy falling apart, so Iām not going to assume any game is an easy win, and simply enjoy the fun for as long as it lastsāwhich is hopefully well into March.

There just isnāt that much difference between the teams in the AAC this year, as evidenced by all the āupsetā wins. Far too many of them. The league has a high level of parity this season.

Its crazy Liberty is 2-3 in CUSA tooā¦run was spot on that the move to the AAC from CUSA was pretty much a lateral move bball-wise.
I was just thinking yesterday as I blew off some important work responsibilities to get to Halton how much this can be made a priority when warranted.

I donāt think it was lateral so much as we dropped some of the bottom dwellers in CUSA. More importantly regardless of the net rankings the perception of the league is so much higher with the brands involved.

Agreed long term it is not, but last yearās CUSA is not far off from this yearās AAC it feels like. I would be curious what the NET comparisons would look like.
Speaking of CUSA last year, this year we have beaten a Final Four team and the two teams in the NIT finals from last year. Just sayin - Fearne, Fearne, Fearne

I looked over the weekend and the AAC was ninth in conference NET. Donāt remember exactly where CUSA was but want to think 15th or 16th.
AAC average NET was 141
In last seasonās conference NET rankings, the AAC finished #9 and C-USA came in at #10.

There are currently 2 teams ranked in the AP and the AAC should get between 2-4 bids (3 being the most likely). Iām happy with the step up. Even if CUSA had similar success on the court the name recognition goes further in the AAC.

If we can keep the team together we can be really good next year.
Thatās what we thought after winning 22 games last year until the money from the big boys came calling.
Ron is no longer here. He was like a basketball wet blanket. He created zero enthusiasm in the fan base.
If we keep winning, getting some NIL money will be easier and throw in that we no longer have the wet blanket.
Also add in the players love Fearne. My gut says that money matters, but this group would play for Fearne and with each other for less. Brice doesnāt leave if Ron was not our coach. Iād bet money on it.
