I agree with Hootie. A win is a win. It is hard as hell to win on the other teams home court and we were 0-6 at Temple coming in. Well done boys! Keep them coming! All I have left to say is Go Niners!

Yes, Dishon Jackson was hurt at the end of the game. Went to the locker room but came back out holding his hip area. Talked about that on the radio broadcast. Coach didn’t mention it post game so hopefully he is ok.

There are no gimmes in this conference. Take the win and run back home. We didn’t play our best but played well enough. Let’s keep our win streak going.

At the beginning of the year, all conference games were listed as a loss. Every win, compared to preseason projections, has us playing above expectation.

Could not be more excited about this amazing year. Go NINERS!!!

Agree but you cant judge based on preseason expectations. Expectations change as the season ptogresses

Agree. And glad we are finally able to raise expectations.

I’m happy with the win but unhappy with the margin of victory. The NET still uses margin of victory right? This was a game we need to pull away and help whatever NET calc.

It factors in somewhat but never been able to determine by how much it actually matters.

Scoring margin was eliminated as a factor back in 2020:

Okay, I thought they changed it back. Guess not.

Either way the NET doesn’t matter for us now. Not going to and haven’t moved the needle much in a while. It is win and in and has been since early in the season.

We won’t move the NET much more this seasons considering our opponents but we definitely have a chance at the conference regular season championship. That return game vs USF in Halton will be HUGE and with 7 games remaining we should be favored in 5 of those games. A record of 14-4 is very possible but we need to sneak a few extra wins or need USF & FAU to stumble a few times to make it happen.

I’ll use the NET to gauge how Fearne did this year compared to last year. I wanna see him get us to 80s or below this year.

Really confused by this as like you I knew of the change in 2020, but when I went to pull that graphic this article came up from 2023.

If you don’t think Fearne has exceeded last year by now…………

He’s on the trajectory to surpass the results of last year, but the season isn’t over. I’ve always said a coach should be first judged by how they compete against their conference mates and then how they compete against the rest of D1. We finally are competitive against our conference mates (hopefully that continues) but it’s still important to me that we make ground against the rest of D1.

Playing a weak conference schedule to wrap the season doesn’t offer as many opportunities to really move the net needle. I’m just looking for Ws.

NWA is right that the conference schedule is not going help the NET, we dropped three spots to 98 after winning yesterday.

That piece from this past November is confusing. Apparently an update of earlier postings “explaining” the NET but with some inaccuracies. Hmm…

Below is the link to the piece from 2020 first noting the elimination of scoring margin:
