Well at this pointā¦with 5 games leftā¦even if we finish a disappointing 3-2 would put us at a 14-4 final Conference record.
Since we wonāt get an at largeā¦just need to make sure we finish top 4 to secure a bye and try to win 3 games in 3 days and bring home the Tourney title and get our own bid!!
Anything else we accomplish over the last 5 games is gravy.
This feels shades of going into the Metro Conference. Our 1st year in the Metro, Henry Williams and company win the Conference. I remember buying a tshirt (I wish I still had) that had Metro Conference with all of the teams on it with our big logo in the middle with a sloganā¦itās OUR conference now!!!
Would be awesome to have a chance to print a similar one this year!

Another gritty win and we remain undefeated in the AAC at Halton. We are going to need to keep that going with #1 USF coming to town soon!!

Nice win today, we looked better than we did Thursday night. We have two tough road games this week and need to keep winning if USF isnāt going to
drop a game.

It is the position where we donāt have a complete player. Braswell gets beat too often. Threadgill plays a ton and has been playing better defense lately. Fearne brought him in to guard #1 late today.

Good to see more complaining about the game time and attendance than the team!
Be nice to get back to us expecting to win every game. For me, I am in the cautiously optimistic phase. I believe we can win, but the last 15 years still has me on the fence.

Iām aware but if we had a knock down shooter on the floor it would really open things up. Braswell looks like the closest thing to that. But yeah, he has issues. If Threadgill would look for his shot more I think he could help on O. I saw a little of that today. Hope he continues that
I expect us to be in every game the rest of the season and to be favored to win most of them.
Refs today were interesting. I want to be consistent calling them out whether we win or lose. At first I thought they were just āletting them playā. Then they started calling phantom fouls on WSU drives and letting WSU maul us on drives and only called about half of those.
Eh, refs were fine. Weāre as physical as anybody. We bump and grind plenty. Always gonna be some missed calls and a wtf or two
Since the USF game we havenāt been able to control the pace on the defensive side, our opponents have had fast, semi-easy breaks to keep the games close. Control the other teams pace and I think we could fix a few issues indirectly and contain our leads much better

It was a good win. Students were excellent as expected.
We kept them in the game with some defensive lapses. Dishon didnāt get back a few times and their big got some easy buckets. Folkes had a couple of mental lapses but it was a good effort all around. The refs let them (both teams) play. My only complaint with the refs was that there was some pretty obvious fouls not called but they called a couple ticky tack fouls instead.
One game at a time and Go Niners! No let down.

Yep, letās beat Memphis. I gotta feeling they not gonna like our style of play. Just a feeling, could be gasā¦ā¦

Exactly what I told my wife. I donāt mind calling the light fouls, but you have to call it the same both ways.
Students didnāt show up today. Iām not handing out any more participation trophies. They need to step it up. One side of the court was only half full. The other side was full but you can tell it was too early for them. The game needs to become a āplace to be eventā for the students. We old farts canāt make that happen. They have to do it for themselves. But of course that was the last game with them on campus so that was basically their last chance this season.
We have very passionate students, albeit itās a small base right now, but can you blame them? When I was in school (98-02) I would have been there no matter the opponent or day or time and been loud BUT there was a culture and history of recent success to drive the āeventā atmosphere. We are on the rise and this team & season is going to create that but it will take time. I expect a good crown for USF especially if they are ranked and/or itās a battle for the conference championship.
I will say at was happy with the alumni & community turnout today. Decent crowd all around everyone was engaged, especially when they needed to be.
