Some experienced candidates listed, but, based on Hills history with hires it just seems that he would probably take the option of naming Fearne in the coming weeks… and not let it drag out.
Expectations are not set very high so the easiest option would not be to take an extended amount of time (which could be all season) on a national search.
If he names Fearne before he accomplishes anything Hill should be fired. Period. I’m all for giving Fearne a chance but naming him before we have even an idea what our conference record is shaping up to be would be idiotic unless we are undefeated at 10-0.
If we are undefeated five weeks from now, let’s get serious about Fearne.
I don’t think Mike will make any call on Fearne until well into conference season. If he was going to lock him up without data he wound have done it already. It’s kind of a nice position to be in where you get to see what your candidate can do without committing to them long term. No reason to rush the process.
