Rice seems to have a capable back up quarterback, Padgett put up descent offensive stats against UTSA last week as a back up, and had solid outings filling in periodically throughout the season, but they are not the offensive juggernaut without Daniels, Rice has more to play for in terms of a bowl bid, but Charlotte, playing at home, holds Rice to mostly field goals and finds enough offense to win against Rice
