This already feels dated. The OL and DL issues were discussed better in previous articles and videos in this thread.
Looking at the weather and this game may be interrupted by thunderstorms.
We should be able to get pressure on their QB since their O line is inexperienced. We should be able to stay within the spread at least, maybe make them sweat. Their D line is inexperienced as well, which bodes well for our running game and clock management.
clt says seeing the charlotte v maryland promos during the first nfl game of the year is pretty fetch
Anyone got a clip of the promos? I haven’t been watching the game.
We blitzed often their new freshmen QB last week, leaving the middle of the field wide open. He missed a few wide open Post routes, I believe a couple of them were on 3rd down. On one they had two guys in same route open, he missed the throw.
Wonder if we will blitz as much this week as Maryland may exploit the open middle of the field??
We only had three sacks in the stats, SCST had two…. They had more TFL’s then we did. This against an FCS opponent.
Can we get enough rush without Blitz’ing? That will be something to watch for.
I think they were daring them to throw. This week they need to get there with 4 and be disciplined. But they could mix up what 4 come and send a 5th if they end up keeping a back in to block, which they would not do unless we get to the qb with 4 early and again. Their backs could be dangerous running or catching.
Where are you sitting? I’m heading up too but have t gotten my tix yet. I’ll try to swing by and say hi.
Niner section is section 2 I’m in 3. Gonna try to hit the alumni get together before the game.

And Charlotte has the talent on defense to do just that, with more reinforcements on the way as edge Stone Handy and defensive tackle Isaac Washington are both slated to make their season debuts against Maryland.
Charlotte does expect Pittsburgh transfer and presumable number one receiver Jaden Bradley to return on Saturday, moving Colorado transfer Jack Hestera back into his natural position in the slot.

Oh wow, those are huge additions for Saturday.
Any idea is ekownuis playing saturday, or evans?
What going on with them?
Stone handy!!
They didnt play on Saturday
Although the Terps offense is flashy and high-scoring, Locksley believes the defense is the strong suit of the team. Maryland’s defense has gone three straight games (leading back to last season) without allowing a touchdown. The Terps hang their hat on stifling the run and making stops in the red zone.
This matchup is not getting much attention and could be the difference maker in the game.
Towson ran it 34 times for 148 yards (4.4 ypc) against Maryland, with a long of 17. Those are very similar stats to what we put up against SCSU, as our long runs were 16 from Durrell (tripped), 17 from Kellman, and 22 from Jalon Jones. We rushed 47 times for 220 for an average of 4.7 against an inferior run defense.
We are going to have to be much improved on the offensive side of the ball to stay in this game. The offense cannot turn the ball over or go 3 and out and surrender field position to Maryland like we did to SCSU. That will be asking too much of our defense, IMO.
I would not be shocked if Stone Handy becomes our best edge rusher, and we have some elite skills there. I want Stone Handy to succeed. I love the dudes on this team
