Here is how special Cam has been: I can’t remember anyone publicly missing Big Maple this season.

I didnt know we finished tied for 5th in the league with a 17-13 record…do these writers even try?

First round matchup against Clemson?

Yep, though it doesn’t read that way in the actual article.

Evidently they don’t try very hard. Article also said we were the 6th seed in the CUSA tournament…

How hard is it to get our record, finishing position and seed correctly?

Pretty hard I guess. Reading not a big thing in Tennessee.

Eight teams from the Old North State make the tournament and the headline in this morning’s printed Big O is:

North Carolina’s four
ACC schools make
NCAA baseball field

Niners do get mentioned in the very last sentence of the article - “No. 2 seed Tennessee (38-19) plays third-seeded Charlotte (34-26) at 7 p.m.”

Wait, that propagandist publication is still in business?

While WTVD in the Triangle gets it right:

It’s not worth the paper it’s not written on

Did they call us the Diamond Niners of Charlotte?

How hard is it going to be to get tix if we decide to go?

I’m not sure how many tickets they are allowing IPTAY members to buy before they go on sale to the public tomorrow. There could be a high demand from Tennessee fans, so the Clemson folks might buy and sell on the secondary market.

Kinda figured I’d have to get on stub hub or something

We may end up facing former 49er Andrew Lindsey. He pitched for us in 2021, then left and took a year off from baseball. He ended up playing summer ball last summer and then signed with Tennessee. He’s had a breakout year for them.

Austin Knight started his career with Tennessee and he transferred here in the portal during 2020 offseason.

Cam Hansen also started his career at Tennessee before going JUCO and then here. Cam was one of the most fired up players once our matchup with Tennessee was announced at the selection show.
