Queens began the transition to D-I in 2022 and joined the ASUN, so can’t use the lower level reason not to schedule our crosstown foe from Myers Park. Plus already have D-II Livingstone on our OOC this season and played D-III Greensboro last year, so that horse has already left the barn.
you guys don’t get it. It’s has nothing to do with their technical level. Argue all you want but the very simple fact is nothing to win, everything to lose. You guys think like Judy. Perception matters. Lets let our VB team play at 7:30 and make our basketball team play at 5. Perception matters.
Yes, agree about perception but we gave up on that a long time ago, though there was a pretty good stretch in MBB that we only scheduled D-I. My recollection is that we and ODU were often the only C-USA schools to do that in hoops, with Southern Miss usually on the other end with the max allowed 4 non-D-I OOCs like of Belhaven, Mississippi College, Spring Hill, and William Carey. Especially Bill Carey!!!
I agree we gave up on perception a long time ago.
Sorry about my short fuse today, I was at the LIU game. Hopefully we hold off FAU in football and improve my mood
Several of the guys including Rolf, Thomas and Folkes may have played their way into lesser roles going forward. Hopefully they bounce back. It was brutal for them today.
Yep, brutal games happen. The “bad luck winner” this weekend is hands-down Creighton’s 7-1 C Ryan Kalkbrenner and his then 28+ ppg average. Had 4 pts - all on FTs - in a home game vs hated in state rival Nebraska, which led wire-to-wire in boat racing the #14 Bluejays.
Yes it does. I’m STILL pissed we didn’t take this team seriously and even favored by 15.5 points, we slack assed our way through 3/4 of the game. If we had played the ENTIRE game like we played the last ten minutes, we too would have blown them out like winthrop did.
Hopefully it was a teaching moment for Fearne and a learning moment for the team. If not, prepare for a season of WTF losses.
