You guys saying we should be patient are missing the point.
We got beat by LIU Brooklyn and ETSU at home.
These are not conference losses.
We should be winning these types of games. Period.
I donāt care who the coach is or who transferred out.
We should be able to win these games.
Losing to these two is not a wobble.
Itās a sign of complete failure and a horrible season coming our way.
We are going to get ROASTED in conference play.

I donāt mind āUNCCā as far as our crowd goes, but comparing our name issue to UCLA and UNLV is just bogus.

Yeah almost every community college in the country is abbreviated ending in CC. Not sure why people donāt get that. Itās totally different than UCLA or UNLV because of the CC and the very strong connotation that carries.

Great. One is the most common meaning in existence for a school of higher education, all throughout the country no less. The other takes specific knowledge of the institution and giving it the time of day to even learn that.
While weāre on the topic, I want to give a shoutout to our spiritual homeboy, TAMU-CC. I wonder how many regular people would know what that is without being told or looking.
Doesnāt help that we have CPCC in our backyard.

Never really thought about that but almost the same age with TAMU-CC being founded a year later in 1947. Biggest difference is that what was originally the University of Corpus Christi was a private Baptist-affiliated school. Became a state institution in 1971 under the moniker Texas A&I CC and later renamed Corpus Christi State U before the current designation.
Just recently TAMU-C - as in Commerce, TX - changed its name to East Texas A&M University. Actually founded as East Texas Normal School in 1889 and didnāt become TAMU at Commerce until 1996.

People that attended this school when UNCC was our common name get zero beef from me. UNCC went to a final 4 and a college cup and played in NCAAs.
I do take issue when the current media or opposing fans use it.
As for our team and current situation - I havenāt looked but have the teams we lost to had rosters that have been solid mostly?
As the portal and NIL keep going lower level teams that keep their rosters together with limited to no NIL might be in better shape to win earlier games like these as teams like us - lower level talent wise but theoretically more talent than them but with some NIL and are trying to incorporate new players.

Really interesting that you seem to formulate a hypothesis that is difficult for us and easier for other teams every time.
The game has changed. For everyone. Time to nut up and own where we are and compete in this new system. We canāt make excuses forever.
I wasnāt make an excuse. Just curious if the data shows the teams that donāt lose their roster every year are performing well against teams with rosters that are new every year.
But yeah I think we are screwed. Between the current system and our lack of funds the path to success is difficult and the path to sustain success is near impossible and Iāve pretty much given up expecting any success. There are serious head winds for us to find any success.
Mid Major basketball teams will continue to win with or without NIL and the portal. The same can be said for G5 football. Buffalo is 8-4 in the first year of Pete Lembo. Furman is off to another 7-0 start. Why? Bob Richey. Iām done with the excuses. Mike Hill sucks and Iāve seen nothing to believe we prioritize MBB/Football over the other sports. Judy and Mike managed to hire Major/Price/Ron/Fearne for our basketball program. That is absolutely comicalā¦ā¦ this message board could have done no worse.
