The ticket sales were open. Reasons for smaller crowd than usual include scheduling mid-week at end of semester and rainy weather. And most of all itâs just not a very entertaining product on the floor.
clt says they need to give us a block of seats again
also, Christmas in davidson limits weekend game options
We bring our team from last year back and Niner turn out there is a huge. Simple as that. Ive gone there on a cold rainy dec weeknight and we have taken over the brickhouse and had a huge crowd there. It isnât being weekday or weather or anything else. Those are just excuses because it isnât worth going to watch when there is so little excitement around the team.
Watching college basketball now is like walking into a Y and seeing two random teams of dudes you donât know. We just go yeah lets pull for the green team.
Very true about the âChristmas in Davidsonâ weekend. Definitely want to avoid that holiday happening.
Sounds like our respective ADs and coaches need to get together and work this out. Perhaps earlier in the season. In looking over the history of the series, it has been played primarily in December:
November = 9
December = 28
January = 6
February = 8
Charlotte Post game wrap-up from Cameron Williams:
Very true. This used to be a game I never missed but did not have any interest in making the trip last night. We actually played at times better then I expected. I wish we were healthy.
For me, its not as much about knowing the players, its more about them not being good enough.
Right - point is that is tough when the team is rebooted every year and this game is always played early in the season before a team can really gel. So there isnt excitement carry over from one year to the next for a good team. There is just well maybe we can be good this year and thats a crap shoot.
Whatâs really disappointing is that we wonât get to see the team that Coach intended to put on the floor this season. Have got to think that would have been a decent starting five but weâll never know. Of course, there are other schools dealing with the same injury issues, most notably Louisville. Just gotta keep moving on with what you have available.
