Havenāt seen anything today about Hardaway and Memphis but did give some thought about the anonymous letter. Would think thereās a 99.9% chance it was submitted by a former UofM assistant.
Also looked at some Tiger fan board chat and seems like many are ready to move on from Hardaway. Of course, he has fans who are vocal apologists, so will be interesting to see what happens.
Thatās an unhinged fanbase, I donāt think Hardaway is a good coach but those people wouldnāt be happy unless they hired Jesus as their coach.
Hopefully we can score a win or two against Memphis in the midst of their chaos and cement ourselves as a contender in the new version of the AAC.
3* PG chooses AAC. Also held offers from Mississippi State and SMU.
I donāt blame the kid, a Rice education is worth far more than one from SMU and Miss State. Not everyone is looking for NIL bucks.
Agree - a good read from Parrish:
Not sure if this is behind a paywall (Iām a subscriber) but The Athletic sports writer Joe Rexrode calling for UofM to move on from Hardaway:
clt says memphis should have provided free paper writing to all students
no issues then
I know everyone uses it as a dig but Hardaway is actually running an AAU program at a D1 level school. Its insane!!!
Chaos, turmoil, assistants coming and going all the time. hangers on and bag men around everywhere, recruiting a kid that shot into a car of people and another recruit being charged with sexual assault and a 5* leaving halfway through a season is all AAU level crap if you have ever been around big time AAU BB. It is amazing what Mempiss will do for the possibility of being more but everyone still knows they are Mempiss!!
Not exactly candidā¦
Norlander and Parrish spend the first 30+ minutes talking about Memphis basketball under Penny Hardaway.
In spite of a couple of non-D-I foes, not a bad OOC for first year Coach Claunch & Co.
