And an even bigger upset than the one in Athens:
My recollection is that Pope called for a 40 game regular season earlier this year.
Do you agree with him Run?
I’m interested in the thought process behind this, especially the angles I’m not seeing.
One of my biggest concerns would be how conference vs OOC is divvied up. 20-20? 24-16? Probably works out for the P6 but not so much for everyone else with the scheduling issues already faced in putting together a 30-31 game sked.
And then there’s the calendar. Extend it or squeeze the additional games into the existing time frame? How would fans and students react to having perhaps a half dozen more home games? Guessing that would add somewhere between $50 to $100 to a season ticket for Niner hoops.
If it’s a winning program, probably a good thing. Ending up 10-30 or worse would be deflating. Plus a 20 win season would then just be a mediocre showing.
Definitely a lot more to consider than just adding 9-10 games.
After this watching this year’s team, I was hoping for a shorter season.
In a battle of ex-Niners in the Heartland:
Excellent tweet pull @TP49er08.
Why is it so hard for us but other programs that don’t have huge resources either and suffer huge roster turnover from NLI losses keep on trucking?
When are we going to stop making excuses?
Ex-Niner Caleb Stone-Carrawell named West Coast honorable mention.
clt asks where is his cig?
Not quite enough as Huskers lose to Ohio State.
clt says just let all SEC teams in
