I agree it was a terrible miss passing on him, but I also acknowledge that NinerNation would have raised holy hell if we had hired retained him at that time.
Maybe not holy hell but I think the sentiment was strongly against hiring him, including my own opinion.

Yeah no one really liked the idea of hiring the interim at the time including me. We just all wanted a clean start from the Alan Major era. No point in crying about it now. Glad it worked out for him.

Some of the names Iāve seen associated with the State opening are āinterestingā to say the least. Up-and-comers to retreads to college assistants with no previous HC experience.
What I havenāt seen is the current P5 āflavor of the dayā - NBA assistants with little or no college coaching background.
Something tells me a certain Louisiana coach is going to get a strong ass offer in spite of the baggage, skeletons, etc. Not UVA but NC State perhaps?
There is no way heās in line for P5 job right? Personally if he gets no head coaching job this year then he should try really hard to get on Kelvin Sampsons coaching staff so he can actually get an idea of how a proper system is run.
