Most definitely and has the diploma to prove it:
Davis was pre NIL. He would have been offered bank and left and I wouldnโt have blamed him.
Iโm not saying this from any insider knowledge, but how do you know he wasnโt?
Letโs not pretend that these guys werenโt getting paid before the NIL dam burst. It was just under the table.
Not really because until they finish their undergrad here they might take off - and because I cant trust that they will do that I canโt develop any emotional connection to them.
Some guys were getting something, but it was peanuts and it wasnt an open bidding war with the portal.
Imagine was Hnery or Jarvis could have gotten paid. Or what zone busting shooters like Diego or Jobey would have landed.
Henry, Jarvis, Diego, Johnson, etc etc all would have gotten paid and left. No doubt!
We could do the โWhat If?โ game forever on a myriad of subjects, not just sports related. Not sure what the point is of doing so, IMHO.
Some folks like to wallow in misery. If REAL misery isnโt enough, they like to create what-if misery scenarios to wallow in. AND share with others, not just here but all across the internet.
Iโm not wallowing at all about what would have happened if the portal and NIL existed with our all time players. I have said all along that the new world in college athletics is killing my interest because we donโt get to see 4 year players stay and have success with us, they transfer, get their bag of money and we are left with replacing more than half our team every year.
I am glad I was there with all of our great players and got to experience the highs of conference championships and tournament play.
Folkes?
Then just when they think no one is listening anymore they post the same thing over again. For example, the reason why they donโt buy season tickets and/or give money anymore.
Many of the people complaining admit they give no money. In my opinion, they have no say since theyโre not invested in the program.
People that give nothing but complain all the time is standard for our fanbase. Ive just redirected all my giving away from basketball and football. Just made me feel less dirty. In fact I have given more this year than previous years. Im sure I will go to a few basketball games, jut wonโt be buying season tickets again until/if this climate shifts.
I reflect on what ifs, because my fanhood was largely built on Jarvis. In todays climate those moments with our students and fanbase are going to be very difficult to recreate and it just sucks. My daughter absolutely loves Alex Highsmith. His presence here for 4 years is a foundational piece of her connection with our athletics.
I have had my Green Jacket for decades along with season tickets for BBall and Football. You?
This some sort of a contest? I donate plenty along, with purchasing season tickets for years. Further the amount one gives is not indicative to their actually level of support. Some people who give less actual give a higher percentage of their income than a large donor. Guess what those people are just as important! I for one would never attempt to validate a point by trying use that I give more than someone else.
Simple put you and others have made a decision to not buy tickets, you have said that on this thread (and others) numerous times. No need to keep reminding everyone of that fact.
i was responding to your last comment along with hky49er.
I love rooting for Charlotte and going to games. we are all on the same team.
