Anyone remember when we played Bradleyโs Hersey Hawkins in the mid 1980โs?

The day before the big snow in Charlotte and Hersey scored 50 on us? We had everyone on the team guard him, and he could not miss. I think he missed like 4 shots the whole game. I drove back to school from Asheville to watch, and ended up not getting back home to trade cars with my parents for 3 weeks from the snow storm.

Was there with BigTimeNiner and it was a shooting clinic.
Funny thing to me as I look back was Bradley basically ran Lutzโs future zipper play 1000 times and there was no stopping it and everyone in the building knew it was coming.

The thing I remember most about the Bradley game was Hawkins dropping close to 50 on us and his coach, Gene Smithson if I recall, was bitching at him for passing up shots. I was close enough to hear him yell โGD it Hawk, shoot the damn ball!โ
If most people had the night he had, they would never pass the ball the whole game. We had Bannister on him at 6โ8" and it was still just the net.
Yeah I remember he torched us on ESPN that night. I was at the game and Hawkins played out of his mind. Was kinda embarrassing.

Saw Coach Fearne at the game yesterday, said good luck and he gave me a handshake, however this year goes got admit the guys is just down to earth and really cool. Hopefully we can build off last year.

Coach Fearne is a good dude and I believe a good coach. Can he succeed this year and we have a very good year? Who knows given half the roster flipped, which ours and 90% of the programs out thereโs future every year.
