FWIW, Oden’s stats at DePaul are mostly meaningless. Blue Demons were hands down the worst P6 team last year with head coach Tony Stubblefield fired mid-season at 3-15. Finished 3-29 (0-20 Big East) under interim Matt Brady, now an assistant at Big South leader High Point.
I think Braswell has clearly established himself as a perpetual sophomore !
This will (probably) be only the second time Braswell has completed an entire season. The other was 2021-22.

On to Niner baseball and softball. I have never felt so numb watching one our basketball squads.
I just expect us to lose at this point and find myself trying to pre-plan other things to do if I need to bail out by halftime, which I did again last night.
We are 3-12 in conference. We’ve been pretty terrible at times in the past 20 years, but is that in fact the worst?

I do not know what shit tastes like, but it can’t be too much worse than the taste that Niners basketball leaves in my mouth.
I was lucky enough to watch Jarvis Lang destroy rims at the old old coliseum; to see his poster plastered by students in our dorms. Lucky enough to see the breathtaking assent that followed, starting with the first game in new Halton Arena. Demarco, Young, Withers, Diego, Jobey, a Niners Globetrotting Dunk Master.
Now, we are racing to 20 losses this season. I have long had it. This was no perfect storm that sank this program. It stacks of incompetence and a fan base that never got angry enough, demanding enough to hold those responsible for this great demise accountable; UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE. Over and over again, TOO LATE.

Interesting scheduling set up over last few games in terms of a round robin for crowning a Conference loser.
Rice plays UTSA and we play UTSA.
Looks like we are likely to play in the loser bracket of the tourney, against one of those teams. Didn’t realize only the bottom two play in the first day of the tournament.
So still something to play for, still a chance to separate from those other two teams.
Could set us up for ending our conf tourney drought?! Ugh…
If we win that “play in” game, does it count for breaking our conference tournament losing streak?
