But it is not played at the Tourney site?? Why is that.
But i guess it is a play in game, as you have to Win to get the invite to the actual Tourney site!

Whatever. It’s our cheap ass conference trying to “save” money. Not the first to do that.

Imagine if we had enough money and sense to keep Jackson / Millicic / Williams / Patterson / Graves around for this season… We would have ended with 2 games on ESPN linear networks, and possibly be playing to cement an AAC champioship. If only we could actually raise money. Sigh.
This whole basketball season being flushed because of what NIL has become and not having enough money is so heart wrenching. It’s over and most of us are kind of glad it is.
We have raised money for nil but not enough to outbid Tennessee and iowa state. We still have enough nil to be near the top of the AAC but we made a mistake keeping fearne and he he recruited poorly. There are a ton of mid majors winning in this era. They have the same ussues we do but they find a way.we can’t keep making these excuses. The woe is me attitude is getting old.
Not only about the money. All went to play in “Power Conferences” to enhance their stature for draft and overseas play. The bag of money helped as well
Fearne is a very good coach. He has had the reigns for a little over a year. Let him do his job over the next two years and it will pay off.
Very good based on what? He underachieved last year, and we stink this year.
He probably won’t be here two more years
He rates very highly on the outback steakhouse scale
They have excellent dingos
Underachieved? If not for him most of last years players would have left last year. Other than loss in tournament they did well in conference play earning a double bye.
Honestly I believe there are some fans that believe every coach underachieves and should just be fired. Sad really.
Yes. Fearne has only been here a little over a year. Let’s give him the same opportunity we gave Biff Poggi to demonstrate why we hired him in the first place.
Oh, wait… we fired Biff in less time. So, perhaps Fearne needs to go. I say this facetiously.
FWIW, a reminder that the 2023-24 Niners were picked 13th in the AAC preseason poll just ahead of last place UTSA.
Biff was fired for the same reason Lutz was let go. His passion for success and him pushing back on the administration for their dogmatic determination to maintain the status quo. Culture and complacency have more to do with our failures than any single head coach. And there have been many. Let’s keep blaming the coach.
Had Lutz and Poggi kept their mouth shut and played along, they too would have been extended. Argue all you want but that is the truth. Neither could tolerate a losing culture.
No doubt, Fearne is a great coach but 1 guy cannot do it on his own. He needs a staff and department that are capable and aligned. He needs recruiters, NIL, and support. Football needs this more than basketball but required in both.
I believe in Fearne but maintaining the Charlotte status quo and blaming the coach for all of our failures will only lead to continued failure in the sports that move the needle.
We went 19-12, which isn’t good, against a weak schedule with a starting lineup of igor, dj, graves and lucye. We underachieved
