Hadnāt seen any speculation about Lamb
Three of those four could be hired and announced anytime, the other Sunday. To me if that list is accurate, that means Albin is the choice and just waiting on Purdue.

Does anyone else get the impression, maybe this is so obvious doesnāt need to be saidā¦ Our AD is not a well connected/networked guy in the world of College Football.

I donāt think thatās the case having worked at Florida and the SEC he has a ton of relationships and connections.
I think we just struggle to pay market rates and they significantly shrinks the pool of candidates.

I always thought Dan Mullen would be a top choice with Mike Hill having the Florida connection
Expects he makes more with ESPN than he could get here

I could be wrong, but it doesnāt make sense for Albin to take Charlotte if heās in the running for Purdue. Unless he is just pure interested in the program and the area, and wants to get away from Ohio where he has been for a LONG time. He could easily just hold out another year and win 8/9 games next year at Ohio and have an even better chance at one of those jobs. Charlotte is not an instant win factory heād have to put together 3 good years to even start being considered for those again.
Speaking of Mullen:
BTW, wasnāt much overlap between Mullen arriving at Florida and Hill leaving for the QC. Also reminder that Hill spent time in the MAC at Ball State between his stints at UNC-CH and UF.

Yes, but wouldnāt his stock rise if he takes us on and builds something special. He can name his price if so.
Also, Purdue is not a sure thing. It is difficult to win consistently there.

FWIW, Purdue last won a Big Ten title in 2000. Had some guy named Brees at QB.
He also may not be a top choice at Purdue?

I just think heās a P4 head coach āfasterā and āeasierā staying at Ohio and repeating success. Our conference is hard you have to have money to compete. Or a gimmick offense (reason Rice went option route). We have neither of the two. Heās about to turn 60 and has everything in place at Ohio already. Big work ahead here.
With the work thatās ahead here, you need a younger successful hungry coach like Lamb or Jacobs. Not saying Albin isnāt hungry.
Either that or you let Brewster retain the most players (including the all important QB) and you have less of a climb.
Love Albin, just not sure if heās going to love us.
Yep, Iām 65. Definitely no drive to accomplish anything once youāre so close to getting a visit from the Grim Reaper.
